In the last two weeks, I've gotten both the 3.5.3 and 3.5.4 OTA updates. Since then, I've had issues with both my wife's phone (iPhone) connecting to CarPlay and my phone (Android) connecting to Android Auto.

Additionally, neither of us can select a car profile despite them being tied to the memory seat buttons - the seats adjust according to our memory seat settings, but the profile stays on guest no matter what. Manually trying to change the profile doesn't work either.

Has this happened to anyone else? Do I have to wait for 3.5.4.1 to fix it or is there a way to resolve either or both of these issues?

The profiles issue comes and goes. No fix that I am aware of. Some drives it works normally while others do not.

No fix for the phone pairing issue either. I am pretty close to deleting every phone from the car except mine. The car seems to prioritize any known iPhone over my Android. Very frustrating for sure.

@Ford Motor Company please help? I want my profiles to work again. To me that not working is way more inconvenient than android auto not working.

CarPlay has been incredibly glitchy the last few weeks. Satellite radio intermittently cuts out. 3.5.4 downloaded yesterday and since then, satellite not only cuts out but Apple Music now cuts in. Really bizarre (and annoying).

Agree. I am not a violent person by nature but I am starting to become concerned because I might punch someone in the mouth if they identify themselves as a member of Ford's OTA team.
Just saying..

I am getting "slow network" messages on my Sync now. Not sure what the "F" that is about? I am guessing all the other drivers who are flirting with Alexa and watching YouTube are chewing up all the bandwidth. ?

Yup. Annoyingly so. Failure to connect. No directions on the IPC, no projected soc on arrival ...

Welcome to shitty Ford Software. I recommend to perform a hard reset daily. It’s annoying but it’s been working for us.

Yeah CarPlay is been horribly unreliable since 3.5.3 on our two 2021s. The connect 50% of the time, the directions in the instrument cluster go away even more, as well as the EV routing data being missing or out of date.

This is probably the first time I wish I could revert to a previous APIM version.

@Ford Motor Company is there any way to report bugs like this?

Same here. CarPlay and profiles have been a mess since 3.5.3. Both worked fine before the update.

What’s really frustrating is both these issues were seen in Early Access installs, yet Ford seemed to ignore them and press on with releasing the buggy version to general release. Why??

Yeah, I’m pretty sure Ford has already committed to the software by the time it reaches EA cars. I think EA is more about testing the deployment.

So basically if we see a terrible update hit the EA cars that should be a signal for the rest of us to turn off auto updates and save ourselves?
Seems more like early warning.

I've had AA issues on multiple rental cars in the last few weeks, so I wouldn't be too quick to try to blame OTAs for that. There have been AA issues on my MME as well.
Of course the profile problems are 100% on Ford. I guess I can take comfort that I don't have to deal with those since 2.7.4 is the last of the numbered updates that Ford is willing to send me.

That is exactly how I am approaching things. I accepted 3.5.2 thinking it was benign but I didn't do my homework about it moving that A/C button to the home screen, or the profiles not working or the weird auto hold experience, etc. If I had known that then I wouldn't have accepted the update.

It is now asking for permission to install 3.5.3.3 but there appears to be all sorts of issues with that one (in addition to what I dealing with already...) so it can sit there and time out. (Or whatever happens when an OTA isn't accepted...)
