I am receving my Mache Premium today, and need to do the paper work soon.
The selling price for the car is $49,875.00

Can someone please guide me to understand what will be the other charges as part of the paperwork?
I don't want the dealers to add some shady charges or warranties or plans that will just bump up the money.

Please help as I'm heading to do the paper work in some time!! Thanks!

Ask to see the window sticker. Also ask to see a breakdown of any additional options/packages that the dealer added, like extended warranties, etc. Figure an extra 10 percent for taxes, plus another $500 in DMV registration fees. The California DMV has a calculator on their website that allows you to estimate sales tax and registration fees.

Did you order the car? It should be sold at MSRP with no extra addons.

Thanks for the reply!!

So the selling price + tax +500$ DMV registration fees should be it???
There shouldn't be any additional "plans" or warranty or any of those stuff needed right?

Look at each and every line item on the purchase paperwork. If there is anything on the list that you don't recognize, ask them what it is. If it's something you don't want, tell them to take it off. Other than tax, title, registration, and a reasonable doc fee (don't know what's reasonable in California), you shouldn't see things added.

Got it.... Is there anything I can do if they are gonna try adding a markup now ?
I don't have any written agreement, but of course it was agreed upon that online orders will be given at MSRP.
It is Frontier Ford and I see too many bad reviews saying they charge 10k markup when car arrives

Selling price is a combination of MSRP, dealer addons like extended warranties, undercoating, maintenance plans, Additional Dealer Markup (aka market adjustment), etc. Ideally selling price should be the same as MSRP, meaning no extra crap has been added.

There is a Clean Fuel Vehicle rebate that is available at the time of sale ($750). Be sure to ask for that. It comes off of the total price of the car which includes taxes, etc.

You didn't indicate when you ordered your car. If it was before December, there was a price increase in December of ~$2000 on Premiums. So don't be surprised if you vehicle price is $51,875 or there-a-bouts and the window sticker says the same.

You should be price protected, but it may mean financing the full $51k now and getting a check later from Ford/Dealer for the $2k. Some dealers front the $2k and get the check from Ford, but that isn't required.

So as others said, you will have line items for anything added. It isn't like they just ask for some lump sum of money and that's it. There will be a box/line on the sales doc for every individually invoiced part of the deal. A real big number for the car, second biggest number will be tax, then doc fee, plate fee, any state specific fees others mentioned, etc.

If there is an extended warranty or anything in the mix, it should be pretty obvious. Just take your time.

Thanks. I ordered it around end of January 2022.

The information you provided is really helpful. What if they try to charge a dealer markup of 10k or so? I am assuming it is not allowed for online orders as it says dealer selling price as well? I don't know how they even attempt doing it, but any tips for this ?

Why... How .... it's like money theft. The order literally says dealer selling price... in that way, anyone can do anything but the question is how is it allowed, as I placed the order myself, and they just act as a delivery person here. This feels like Pizza delivery asking for 30% extra money at our door... But let's see what happens

I agree. But ford just built the car, the dealer owns it until they sell it to you. They also have all the leverage.

Don’t go alone.
Agree. It’s looks like OP is first time buyer. Even with my experience the buying process isn’t easy at all.

To OP: I’m absolutely sure there will be a ton of unnecessary junk addons. Ask to remove them from final paperwork’s and double check the numbers before signing. If there will be markup I’m not sure you can do something.
