No worries mate, you can probably get one of those multi-disk changers from the late 90's. Maybe install it in the frunk so you can access it... at the push... of a... button... oh...

Sorry, should have been clearer. While the Waze map is displayed via apple Connect, the radio station number does not show. Imho the station should have a dedicated spot on the screen, like the time.

Can it not recognize and auto-connect to my phone via Connect when I plug in via usb, after having successfully paired via bluetooth on multiple prior trips?

Not with this car. The sync screen has a top header and lower footer that is fixed. The body has a main and secondary section. The system can have multiple apps running at the same time. The main section shows one app at a time in full view while the secondary section shows the remaining active apps in card view. The secondary section can be minimized or maximized (which is still smaller than the main view). The audio player is just another app so you can have Waze in the main portion and the radio in the secondary portion. If you maximize it then it will show the station info.

I know, right. Not with this car DESPITE the large screen. Ridiculous. Easy software fix.

Having the radio as just another app is the point—a deficiency. Time and radio station should have permanent positions on such a big screen.

What’s “Waze”? Come to think of it, what’s “Apple connect”? ? all joking aside, Apple CarPlay is behaving as expected and taking over the native vehicle display. If you want the native display, exit CarPlay.

Sheesh - initially, ford WINDOWD CarPlay and everyone whines that CarPlay didn’t take up the entire freaking screen, so Ford updated CarPlay to take up pretty much the entire screen, excluding climate control and a few other minor things, and now people are whining that they can’t get to features that CarPlay is deliberately designed to obscure. ?
