Is there any car with a power liftgagte that doesn't have an additional button on the inside of the weather stripping for closing the hatch? I don't know of any.
Since this is my first car with a power liftgate, I defer to those more knowledgeable. My Blazer has manual EVERYTHING. ??

I've never noticed one before, through a highlander, a Sienna, 2 Land Rovers, a Cayanne, and a Q7.

I think that Honda CR-V doesn't have them. I'll check when my wife comes back home and report it here if it's not true.

Toyotas definitely have one. I've never owned the other brands, but I bet they do too. How would a short person reach the button on the outside of the hatch above the license plate on an SUV with the hatch open?

On Chryslers, the button is actually on the inside wall of the cargo area. All other brands I've seen have it on the inside lower edge of the hatch, just like the MME.

If the second button was positioned differently (e.g. around the lower edge of the trunk) it would make sense. Currently both buttons are literally within a foot or 2 from each other, both on the same surface -- the bottom edge of the trunk door. So both of them are above your head when the trunk is open, and if you can reach one of them, you can as easily reach the other one as well.

Every time I see this thread's title I can't help but think: "This would make a great Mythbusters episode"

I've only ever used the manual 2x pull lever to open the frunk (much to many people's dismay, ahem, Jim) - it's actually been faster than fishing my phone from my pocket, opening the fordpass app and holding the frunk button. I decided to try it the other day to show off the feature for my wife and got a "failed to open frunk" error message in FordPass multiple times. Smh

yeah agreed, it just needs to be a button on the physical key fob, just like the one for the trunk

Entering the code + 8 on the driver's door is the easiest way, period.

The one in the middle is closer to the rear wall of the liftgate, where the one on the left is closer to the front trim on the liftgate. Add in the curvature of the liftgate and you have the left button a few inches lower than the middle button. Not an issue for me, being a dog of altitude. Reaching the middle button might an an issue for persons who are height-challenged. ??
