My 2022 premium build March 14 will open the frunk after keying in the code and pressing 7-8I know that there has been talk about an OTA update allowing the app to pop the frunk, but I recently saw this on on Ford's website:
"There are a couple of other ways to open the front trunk. Use your vehicle’s entry keypad by entering the factory-set code or your personal code, then press 7-8 within five seconds. You can also use your remote key trunk button by pressing it twice."
Curious if it is presently accurate, a planned feature, or neither. Anyone have additional information on popping the frunk using the keypad or fob?
Double pressing the trunk button opens the trunk. How can that be a frunk opener?I know that there has been talk about an OTA update allowing the app to pop the frunk, but I recently saw this on on Ford's website:

Do you actually have two different trunk buttons? One for opening and one for closing? I have one trunk button. Press it twice to open or close.Has anyone noticed that you can close the trunk by pressing the button you press to open the trunk? Why have two buttons that do the same thing? I would rather have a close/open button the driver could access and get rid of the close button since it is redundant.
I'm pretty sure robbinbadams meant the 2 buttons on the bottom edge of the trunk door. There's a button in the middle (which you can use to open the trunk), but also there's an extra button on the left, more clearly denoted as "close trunk" button. Confuses me as well, and makes me think that maybe they have slightly different effect.Do you actually have two different trunk buttons? One for opening and one for closing? I have one trunk button. The button to the left is positioned inside of the weatherstrip, making it easier to reach than the middle button when the liftgate is open. Either button will change the state of the liftgate. The one on the left is just really inconvenient for opening it since it’s completely obscured when the liftgate is closed. ??I'm pretty sure robbinbadams meant the 2 buttons on the bottom edge of the trunk door. Makes sense - I have often wondered, but never enough to take the time to consider. Thank you for doing that. Odd design choice, unless it's a Ford thing - useful on a gigantic SUV where you couldn't reach the center button if it's open. Is there any car with a power liftgagte that doesn't have an additional button on the inside of the weather stripping for closing the hatch? I don't know of any.Makes sense - I have often wondered, but never enough to take the time to consider. Thank you for doing that.
