@Administrator, if this already was discussed, please merge or delete. I was not able to find a forum when searching for Netflix

Not to be critical. But this is nothing new - itā€™s just another article about an unsupported 3rd party hack. Not an update to allow Netflix or anything else natively. Weā€™re still stuck with just YouTube and the two NBC offerings for now.

Is the YouTube and NBC offerings part of an update? I purchased my Mach a month ago and don't see those offerings anywhere?

Yes, those are part of the fairly recent 3.5.4.2 OTA. VINs get queued in batches, so Ford probably hasnā€™t gotten to your group in the queue. If you canā€™t wait for the OTA queue, your only options are to pay a dealer for update time or to find someone who has FDRS near you to perform the updates (I usually offer a bribe of doughnuts). šŸ˜ŠšŸ©

I never said its an update. Just a box which streams it to the screen.

I actually don't see this as a hack--just a solution in the form of an add-on device. I gathered from the video that some viewers were curious how Netflix was showing on his main screen. It turns out this device is what made this possible.

This device is simply using the Apple CarPlay conduit to show content from what is essentially a screenless Android tablet instead of from an Apple phone. It does not alter the car in any way. Some of these devices can double as a stand-alone set-top box in your living room via HDMI. They are also a handy way to add wireless ACP/AA to a vehicle that only provides wired connection from the factory.

Hopefully, if Benjamin did have viewers who were wondering how to view Netflix, this video answered their question.

As I said, this has been covered before. People have compared and contrasted boxes from different manufacturers and discussed the pros and cons of each. Perhaps a more descriptive thread title that would make it clear that the thread is discussing a 3rd party adaptor box, not a ford update to Sync 4 to include Netflix, would be helpful.

Agreed: succinct, informative thread titles are a good practice and an important skill in just about any setting. This is often easier said than done, especially given the many mindsets readers can have when they see the title.

In this case, I didn't pick up on any promise of a native/Sync 4 solution from the thread title--which I'm going to quote here in case it gets changed later (that's happened to me before):

"Watch Netflix or your own videos on Mach-E screen (How-To Video)".

As a result, I wasn't similarly disappointed about how OP accomplished this. If he was answering questions about how Netflix was showing on his screen, I submit that he's on point.

Anyhow, I agree with encouraging good thread titles. But I also want to recognize and appreciate OP's efforts to make informative content. Keep up the good work @Benjamin Kegele
