It will likely depend on how it's titled. If it's titled as used, it won't qualify for the tax credit.
I spoke to my accountant quickly about this and to her understanding even if we took delivery in 2023 we wouldn't get any credits because 2021 model year is not on the list for 2023 tax credit eligible vehicles. I can't seem to find any information online that says otherwise :(

There is no comprehensive list of vehicle eligibility for 2023 yet. There are some "probably" lists based on where the car is made, but we're still awaiting secretary guidance on battery components and critical mineral sourcing, so nobody knows for sure. If it's going to be titled as new, and therefore qualify for the tax credit, you should make sure to purchase it this year.

No. If you purchase this year, you will qualify for the full $7500 tax credit (assuming you have enough tax liability). If you buy next year, the tax credit may be cut in half or you may not qualify at all if your income is too high.

Hello, what does job2 mean? The car was built in August 2021. My wife reached out to her contact at the DMV to see if we would be considered the first owners since it was a demo car. My wife did say Ford would consider it New so warranty would start fresh minus the 6k miles driven already.
August 2021 would be a 2021 Job2 car. 2021 Job1 cars got a divider in the frunk because they did not have the software to actuate the electric frunk release (among other things like BlueCruise not being installed). They still have no electric frunk release unless they've had the software manually updated. ?‍♂?

Your wife works for a Ford dealer, so when the HVBJB fails, you should be in a good position to get it repaired. Plus it's a great deal her boss is offering. Go for it and enjoy the car - it's a great ride!

How much would this job cost? is it a long job?
Folks here have priced the part and labor and it's something like $2k total if you were to do it yourself. On a scheduled basis, you could have the dealer order the part. Assuming the dealer has a tech, lift, and the specialized battery and coolant tools ready to go, the work itself is basically 1-2 days of downtime for the car.

I will say I've never seen anyone on this forum who has gone ahead with a proactive replacement of the HVBJB, and I do not know if you will run into resistance from the dealer or Ford in buying a HVBJB to a dealer for "elective" surgery (as opposed to emergency warranty work).

I'm not even sure a dealer can order the part if your car doesn't have the right code. It's on indefinite "back order."

Yes, but you'll need an adapter. The Adapter cost about $150-200. Teslatap makes one, there's tons of others too. As a bonus you can use it at tesla destination chargers, but not superchargers.

Awesome, we have a model 3 right now and wasn't sure if we needed to get a Ford specific charger installed.
