I've had a 2023 Premium long range on order since Sept. Not in production yet and no date. Saw that a local-ish dealer had 4 on their lot. Started at $12K over and negotiated them down to $2K over. Trading a 2019 Tesla Model 3 LR AWD with 22,000 miles on it, which has been plummeting in value over the last 6 weeks, but getting close to KBB trade-in value for it and only paying tax on the difference. Plus, I'll snag the $7,500 tax credit on top. The 2022 Premium is Dark Matter Gray w/black interior. No options other than the long range battery. The tax credit for 2023 is a total crap shoot and the car itself is increasing in price by almost $10K. So I'm feeling like it's a good idea to pull the trigger now vs. waiting for the one on order.

It seems like a good move. And I have the same color and really like it. Hope to see you around Philly.

Picking up the pony on Monday. So we’ll see. And I have a model 3, not Y. But the 3 is definitely a stiff and harsh ride
mach-e and m3 are roughly equivalent on ride. The Mach-e is stiff too. Spring rate and damping rate are about the same, so I wouldn’t expect to experience a miracle here. Regarding handling, the mach-e wins with respect to lateral roll with beefier sway bars (I’m guessing) but being that it’s heavier overcomes the grip of the tires easier.
Overall, I’m not pleased or disappointed about switching from the model 3 to the Mach-e regarding handling.
My disappointment is the Mach-e delivery of power above 60mph, and obviously the loss of the incredible efficiency of Tesla.
let me know how far off I am

Only have it a few days, but I’m finding the ride to be not as harsh. But off the line instant torque, it’s no match for the Tesla, which is much faster. Efficiency don’t know yet. The tech and screen interface is way better on the Tesla. Ford needs to recruit away some engineers from Tesla and fix that aspect. PAAK walk away doesn’t really work and certain things are unnecessary, like having to have a start button to turn the car on and off. But it’s beautiful!

Congrats on the MME. Also, the only people who complain about push button start/stop are current/former Tesla owners. Plus, I bet Ford/GM et al recruiting efforts have gotten much easier since Elon went full shitshow mode 24/7.

Honestly, many dealerships selling at MSRP or below. Anyone paying over MSRP is simply impatient.

You're right about that. For me, I was anxious to just get one and secure the $7,500 before the end of the year, so even with a couple thousand over, when you add the near $9,000 price increase on the '23's with the uncertainty of the tax credit, I figured to still be saving a lot. Of course, the day after I took delivery, the feds announced the 3 month extension of the credit, so that would have relieved the pressure to act.

One can hope that Tesla engineers are actively looking for new homes! And you're right about being a former Tesla owner. Start buttons are just legacy car design creatures.

I like the start button and wish there was more of an announcement that the car was running…I loved the way some cars rev their engines upon start and the tachometer needle doing the shake

I picked up a 22' Premium AWD Ext Range in Rapid Red too over the weekend after waiting for 4 months for the Premium AWD Std Range that I rodered and no production in sight. I paid a small ADM here too in CA. However, look like I would qualify another 2k EV rebate credit in addition to the Federal Tax Credit. So not bad at all. Plus I also have been without a car for last few months as someone totalled my car. If I have my car still I probably won't mind continue waiting.
