We are the forgotten Ponies. That's how I feel after owning MME RT1 AWD 2022. @Ford Motor Company, you have forgotten about your MME EV followers.

> You bet Mustang name, I think you have barely earned the Mustang fans trust and it is slipping away.
> MME 2023 lacks of upgrade, essentially the same car as 2022 just more expensive. No much innovation, stuck in the 2020. No additional KW, no efficiency gain.
> Parts are hard to come by, many MME are sitting 3 months in the garage, gathering dust and rusting away.

My MME has been in the garage for 10 weeks now and waiting for one part A/C condenser has been back order 9 weeksand counting.

First, I waited 10 months ordering the car to delivery. Now the repair is going 10 weeks and going. According the Koons Ford Collision center Falls Church VA, there are two more MME waiting for parts. They said last MME waited 3 months for part. Ouch!

I know you (Ford) is big about F150 EV, rightly so. But it can be just one trick Pony.

For MME Fans, please don't get into accident. Your EV pony maybe out of commissioned longer than you think, the part shortage is so bad.

Update Jan 10. I stoped by the Koons Ford Collision Center, Falls Church. Thanks @Ford Motor Company my AC condenser just arrived (yeah!) after 10 weeks in back order. Hope @Ford Motor Company will ship more condenser, there is another MME still waiting for a condenser. Two MMEs got the parts.

Any chance you can get a shot just a little further to the right on that lower picture? I'd like to see where the proximity sensors hang down.

the picture was taken back in Nov 4, unfortunately I have not seen the car since then. Next time I stop by the garage, I will try to take another set of pictures.

for what its worth, I own a 2017 Mustang Ecoboost. It is the same car as the 2015, with no major improvements. and it cost more than the 2015 (albeit not thousands more like the mach e, but the new car market and the economy was waay different in 2017).

So, just to understand, was this the result of an accident?

Not many manufacturers have a redesign rate less than three to five model years. Also of note is that you are dealing with a third-party body shop. Some complaints have more validity than others.

Couple of points here:
  • Most manufacturers go at least 3 years before a mid-cycle refresh
  • The Mustang Mach E is a very low volume vehicle by Ford standards. I think the only lower volume vehicles are some Lincolns and the GT.
  • Ford has to recoup a lot of development costs on this vehicle. I would expect incremental “hardware” upgrades, at best for a while.

Also would like to add, the back order log isn’t limited to Mach-Es. I have an F350 on my rack I’m building a trans in for a customer, that originally came in at the beginning of November. It was faster to build it and even then, we still had backordered parts we waited on. It’s unfortunate and can make it hard to get peoples cars fixed in timely manners as well

Sounds like you need to get on the collision center to call around. Heck, ask them for the part number and you can call part departments and see if they have it in stock (though your current dealer should be able to get you a stock list of dealers). They can also tell you if they can get it quicker somehow.

can't you bypass the A/C and get back on the road?

It’s been less than 2 years since the first MME was delivered and you expected major hardware changes?

Good point, car innovation can be slow and incremental, appropriately for ICE cars, matured technology. EV on the other hand, shouldn't we see more incremental improvements? I recalled Mach-E engineers and Ford CEO promised quick action in one of the Munro Live episodes, the complexity of the cooling system, complex pipes and valves. Hope @Ford Motor Company has not forgotten to improve thermal management in 2023.
