Hi,

our rear wiper arm unfortunately broke, so that only the small handle on the screw remains (see photo). I got a replacement part, but am having a problem removing the rest of the old arm. The nut comes off the bolt fine, but the actual wiper arm handle seems completely stuck on the bolt. Should it just slide off at this point or is there something else holding it in place I am missing? I am afraid to pull too hard and damage the motor.
Has anyone else here replaced the rear wiper arm?

There is a tool for the removal. The fit is sort of tight and it’s also splined, so the tool makes it easier. ??

It's just on there tight. You might find WD40 to help. You can screw the nut on slightly to use as a thumb rest while using your fingers to pull. Pull w/ fingers, push with thumb, after a little penetrating oil is used.

I want to find a larger blade for mine -- it doesn't reach high enough on the window for my liking.

Yes you need to use a wiper arm puller of some type. Spray penetrating oil around the bolt threads to make it easier.

Hi Anika!
I had the same issue with a car wash breaking my rear wiper arm.
Could you share the reference for the replacement part(s) you've ordered? Thank you!

grab it with a vise grips near the broken end with the tool sticking up towards you and wiggle sideways being careful not to contact glass

My assembly also was pulled off in a car wash. The paid for the replacement. But the part does not come with the wiper attatched. Its just the arm.

The blade I ordered from RainX said it fit, but none of the clips will work with the arm.

It was also a longer blade.

Any advice? Do i have to by the blade from Ford to get the clip?

Today, had to replace rear wiper arm. Had trouble finding the tool I needed, until I went to O’Reillys.

This tool did the job. Also, it did help to spray WD40 on the pinion which the arm spins on.

Use patience, and good alignment while tightening, and it will break the arm free in time.
