That's bad; that's really bad if that indeed happened. All the old parts should have been recalled and recycled (or taken apart and upgraded to meet the new part standards, if feasible.) There should not be any originals sitting around in parts storage somewhere.
Agreed. Sounds like the disposition on the change order was "use up" inventory, rather than scrap or rework. Just got my High Voltage Battery and Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power warning on the way to work this morning.

GTPE delivered 10/30/21. 11,115 miles on odometer.

PM sent to Ford Motor Company.

The car still accelerates even though it’s downrated. The amount the software derates it is probably closer to an econobox from the 80’s, better at lower speeds. We all survived that time. I’m sure we could do it again. This is the warning BEFORE the failure, so you can get the car to the dealer as the warning on the dash is telling you.
This is the problem, it is irrelevant if accelerates the same as some 80s econobox as when you where driving your 80s econobox you new it accelerated at a slower speed so took that into account most people driving are not expecting the car to suddenly loose significant power at some random moment in time when the push they push the go pedal unless of course you are a GT/GTPE owner when it does it all the time ?.

This may not be an issue now but it certainly could turn into one much further down the line once more of the earlier mach-e with high mileages still on the original HVBJB start ending up on the used market in 2nd and 3rd hands where the chances are owners will be unaware of the HVBJB ticking time bomb.

In an ideal world everyone would be driving at appropriate distances and leaving more than sufficient time to make maneuvers but unfortunately we don't live in a world like that, sudden unexpected loss or reduction in power has the potential to be a significant safety issue Ford should never have been allowed to get away with band aid bean counter software hack as a fix. Then again we are talking about a company with a past history of pinto fires and explorer rollovers where bean counting is more important than safety.

UPDATE:

Got in contact with Ford BEV team who opened a case for me. They got my details and ensured me over the phone that my vehicle would be receiving the new part rather than the same part that is destined to fail (In GT models at least).

My dealership told me as well that they had no loaner cars to give me, but that Ford would cover the cost of a rental via Hertz, enterprise etc. I also confirmed this with my Case manager over the phone as well from Ford BEV team.

A couple days passed and I reached out to Ford BEV team (Via Emails - Which the lady told me is her best way to reach her) to get an ETA on the part shipment so I can gauge how long I should rent the car for.

I have not been able to talk with her (My Case manager) since that day (Jan 10th)

Luckily, my service representative at Galpin Ford has been giving me regular updates on what he's being told. I told my service rep to verify that the part they send is the new one before they install, and he ensured me he would. He also said the car could be ready by mid this week.

Today the part arrived. And, as expected, the Ford BEV team sent the defective part despite telling me it would be the new one. My service rep at Galpin notified me of this and told me they are sending it back to them and requesting the new one. Not expected to arrive until the end of the week. I'll know more on Friday hopefully.

I will continue to try and reach out to my Ford BEV Case manager and see what is going on. I had to return the loaner today and was going to take a chance by not extending the rental because I was skeptical of how much Ford would actually cover of the cost. So unfortunately, now I'm out of a car again and my MMEGT is going to be in the shop longer. (although, I've heard much worse wait times for HVBJB repairs so I'm keeping it in perspective.)

Will continue to update as we go along.
I am a little skeptical that the old part was actually sent to your dealer. When the updated part became available in May, Ford cleared the remaining old parts. Even if you don't buy into them clearing the old parts out, with how many of these that have failed from May forward, they would have cleared the old parts out by now as replacements, especially since the part was on backorder at times last year after May.

Ok, so far we have two forum members with the new box that has failed?
are there any statistics that show how many failures out of how many cars built and is it possible regardless of model that you may never experience this problem, I sincerely hope so, enjoying my 22 GT but fingers crossed every time I drive it

I dropped it off at Ford Store Morgan Hill. They're very busy and said they can't look at it for a couple weeks. At least I have my truck to drive to work. It's always fun driving the six speed manual crew cab 4x4.

I got a call from FSMH today. The service advisor is a personal friend, and said he might be able to get it looked at in the next few days. Hey, it's better than a couple weeks.

I got another call and they've ordered the part. Sounds like they're moving faster than they initially indicated.

they should get the part in 3-5 days once verified w/ FDRS in the shop and ordered thru their COPIS system. There really is no need to leave the vehicle at the shop, unless you don't mind driving something else until they finish with it. Once the Alert kicks in, output is limited, and risk of bricking seems low for people who have the 'early warning' software installed.

Thanks! I don't mind driving my truck, and I didn't want to risk being left on the side of the road. Frankly, it's making me consider ditching the Mach-E and going back to the 24 year old truck haha.

Aaaand the alternator is lifeless this morning on the truck... I'm glad I have a job where I can work from home if needed.

when will your MME be fixed?
.... maybe they'll give it back to you until parts come in ?! ;)

I drove mine about a Week with the SVS Alert active, no problems. The power cap seemed to prevent total death SSN
