I think it will continue the heritage appropriately.
The 60's gave us two new vehicle use types: Muscle Cars and Pony Cars. Generally speaking, Muscle Cars were mid-size cars with full size engines (displacement wise) and full frames.
Pony cars were uni-body construction with sub-frames and mid size engines.
The Muscle Cars were more brutal. Pony cars were more nimble and smaller in size.
In short....the original Mustang fit a niche that did not exist before and has owned it.
The Mach E has that same ability I believe.
