I ordered my MME-GT last October and it shipped last week and is scheduled to arrive May10-17 and will only qualify for half the $7,500 tax credit. I found the exact same MME-GT in stock at another dealer within 50 miles, it arrived at the dealer about 2 weeks ago and the customer who ordered it backed out of the deal. So I pulled the trigger on it and it will qualify for the full $7,500 tax credit. I another interesting thing is both had the exact same sticker price except the delivery charge on the sticker was only $1,300 because it was ordered earlier and not $1,800 that was on the one I order, the $500 will cover the $500 deposit I'm probably going to lose on my order. Not only will I get the full $7,500, but I'll get my GT a month earlier!!

Has anybody else waiting for their MME consider this option to get the full $7,500??

I am not sure of all the tax credits and amounts available per car buuuuuuut, you can't claim this car when filing for 2022 as you didn't take delivery in 2022. You can only claim it next year in 2024 when filing for 2023. I mean, that's how I understand taxes to work, if it didn't happen in 2022, it won't count towards that years return which is what you are filing this year.

Did you post this in the right thread? He never mentioned tax year.

Considering the title says it won't deliver by April 18, it leads one to believe that the OP is concerned that they won't be able to claim the credit on this year's taxes.

No, the 18th is a concern because that’s when the new battery rules kick in reducing the available credit on a Mach-E to $3750.
I forgot that’s also the filing deadline….what a coincidence. I see now where you’re coming from!

Correct, and they also are saying there is an income cap. So you can’t take the credit if your household income is over 150k for individual, 300k for couple…(225k for Head of Household). The new rules seem very restrictive and not very “incentivizing”

Deposit should be fully refundable.

This has been debated in quite a few threads. Except for California, $300,000 income for a household is very high. If someone makes that kind of money, they don't need an incentive. This is designed to not incent people that don't need it.

I'd do it if I could find one like mine anywhere within 300 or so miles of where I live. I have looked and looked with no luck. I guess I have a weird combo of options.

Wish Ford would allow ordered MME holders to transfer incentives, APR and PCO to a dealer lot MME.

That would seal it for me instead of waiting for my ordered MME that will not arrive till after 4/18.....

I agree this should be an easy thing for Ford to agree to. Have you called your dealership and ask them to contact their dealer rep and see if this could be possible?

Agree. I can see Ford and dealers not wanting to make it standard procedure, but for wait times that have been ridiculous, seems they'd have a few exceptions up their sleeves.
