Wow... 50 days. That is unacceptable. Hope you get your car back soon, and also get reimbursed for those amounts.

Is that long delay just because they couldn't get the part yet? According to other post, swapping the oil pump should take just a few hours.
Well, to be fair, I think the oil pump was a total of 30ish days and I've been told that it's complete. It's still in the shop because it's also having the tailgate replaced. So it's a combination of two things. I would agree that replacing the pump is probably not that hard.

Also, I got a lesson from this experience. Call dealerships to check if they have loaner cars before going to service, if not urgent. If they don't have any loaner cars (I heard most don't), then it would be so frustrating to deal with rental. I had no idea at all as this was my first car and thus the first repair experience.

Yes we do. My car has been in the shop 50 days for this and is still there. I'm going through the same rental car issue. Same 10 days at $40. I'm at over $1200 in rental car fees thus far.

The oil pump, pumps pressurized oil in the transmission gears of the motor. Ford elected to go with an oil pump instead of using a "oil splash" system. This oil keeps the step down gears cool and lubricated. I've seen 4 other failures in the last 2 weeks and I plan on doing a complete write up as soon as I get my car back. I have a bit of fear that this might be emerging as the next big issue.

When they drain the oil from the transmission, if it contains metal flakes they are instructed to replace the entire motor. So, the level of complexity in the repair depends. I have a strong feeling that the dealership that has my car didn't even check. I'll be asking to speak with the technician who performed work on the car if it doesn't specifically call out what steps were taken in the repair order.
What a bummer, so much for nothing can go wrong with an electric car.

I go crazy when people say that. Tesla salesmen years ago said that to me, I asked him what happens if the window breaks in the down position or an axle problem. He goes yeah I guess that would be an issue.

The problem with the oil pump stall is that it can cause further damage if you continue to drive the car, so you're stuck in a predicament. It doesn't appear to be urgent, but at what point does the motor seize up and it is urgent?

I mean, not urgent in the sense that you have some time to call several places near you. It is not like your car is stuck on the road, so I could've decided a better place (maybe suburb rather than downtown) to get me a loaner after some research. I didn't go to the nearest dealership which has 2 stars on the google map anyway :p

The self opening tailgate issue
oh. That one. I disabled the kick sensor in the configuration of the car so that didn’t happen to me.

I did the same but it still happened. They think it's an issue in the tailgate, not the bumper so idk...

Kinda itching to trade in my '21 for a new refresh, wish they would hurry up or I'll be going with something else, but they all seem to have some sort of issues :/

Has anyone actually had luck getting reimbursed for your rentals? I've been trying to get my case looked into but the BEV team keeps ignoring me after many emails and calls.
