Is there a way to have the navigation plan a route by selecting a preferred highway route number? For example, I would like to have the navigation route a trip between Chicago and Denver along US 34. Any way to achieve this? Simply saying "Avoid highways" doesn't seem to be specific enough.

No. You can add specific stops which makes it go where you want.

ABRP lets you avoid highways, and you can also add specific stops.

I was playing with both of those approaches. It's viable for relatively short route where there are only a few waypoints needed to keep you on the desired numbered route. But it's way too tedious to manually do it for a route spanning hundreds of miles. Especially in areas where the desired numbered route is crisscrossed by more direct alternative routes.

That is exactly what I found trying to navigate from central IL to Colorado Springs. I submitted this feedback to Ford. Also provided feedback that the speed sign recognition needs to include recognizing "end of work zone speed limit" signs. We encountered several work zones where the 45 mph speed limit sign was recognized but after the work zone ended no other speed sign for several miles, so the cruise control would not automatically adjust from 45 mph. Very frustrating.

No. I just use Google and then when I'm about 30-50 miles from the DCFC, I turn on Ford's navigation if I need to condition the battery.

I gave up on ABRP in the middle of a road trip when it suggested I drive an extra ~400 miles because I couldn't force it to route along slower highways...

Here's the feedback I submitted:
When getting directions in the navigation I would like to be able to specify preferred roads. The way I envision this is that between two way points I could add a "via" field so, for example I could plan a route that is "From: Chicago; Via: US 34, US 36, US 6; To: Denver"
In the above example where multiple road preferences are listed, they would be selected in priority order, so US 34 would be chosen mostly, except where US 36 or US 6 off more direct routing. By contrast, if US 6 was listed first, US 6 would be mostly chosen.

I have always found it to adjust to the new speed limit sign after a work zone. Maybe yours were non-standard signs?

In my area, sometimes the sign simply says “End Work Zone Speed Limit”.

You are correct. I probably did not explain fully. We encountered a 45 mph speed sign when entering the work zone. Unfortunately when leaving the work zone no speed sign was posted, only a sign indicating "end of work zone speed limit". The next speed sign was multiple miles away along I-70 so Blue Cruise did not adjust speed above 45 mph even though we were no longer in a 45 mph zone. I think the problem is the algorithm recognizes numbers but not text. That should be a relatively easy upgrade.

I wouldn't think that's an easy upgrade, but I'm not an expert. It's pretty simply to hold the + down on the steering wheel and increase speed.

That’s exactly what I do.

Just put a way point that f
Is along that route?
