Heard a Clunk….Pull Over Safely

Was driving about 60 mph on the highway with my daughter. Heard a clunk sound and it started to slow down. Said AWD was disabled. Pull over safely.

2021 Premium 18,200 miles.

I was literally just telling someone I love it. Haven’t had any major issues.

Hopefully it is a quick and easy fix….

Yep those exact words on the drive display. Reddit saying HVJB failure. I had the OTA update but guess she can still get it!

Which one of those did you see? Also the HVBJB issue doesn't result in a noise and wouldn't change the vehicle drive dynamics. I'm sorry to say but I think Reddit is wrong.

Ahhh play it sounded like a thunk or something. Then power cut down. I could only drive about 20-30 mph. Then said AWD disabled. Stop safely.

Once stopped I couldn’t put the car back in drive. I still had all the screens though. Had to use the menu option to put in neutral.

Only weird coincidence is I got the HVAC update last night! Lol 4.2.5

Dealer just called and the diagnostics is……

NEW BATTERY NEEDED. It shorted out it seems. They’re hoping it’s fixed by end of the week!

So we shall see! Very interesting though.

Just so you know, most of the time when a dealer says a new battery is needed, it's actually the HVBJB. May not be the case here, but I wouldn't be surprised.
