Can I add heated seats to the screen with forscan?

I’ve got a 2021 California Route 1 that came without heated seats. I’ve priced out aftermarket heated seats and it’s around $500 for the front seats BUT that’s with a physical switch hidden somewhere. Does anybody know of a way to get the controls on the screen?

I hunted through the ford parts list and don’t see any kind of heated seat controller for the MME.

I feel like this should be as simple as buying the parts for the trims/years that came with heated seats and adding them then using forscan to tell the car that the seats exist.

Nope, much more complicated than that. The wiring for it doesn't exist from the HVAC module to the seats in your car, and would be difficult to add (adding pins to a connector). The touch screen tells the HVAC module to switch them on via digital bus. The HVAC module is only designed to supply the OEM seat heaters and temp sensors.

I didn’t even think about it being managed by the HVAC module. I guess I’m going to have to go with the low tech approach of a switch hidden somewhere.

Also @Mach-Lee I’ve got to say you are probably the most helpful person on this forum. Thanks for all your valuable input to all of my random questions.

What did you end up installing? I am about to do the same. Which fuse did you tap into? Where did you mount the switches?
