Is this normal. 50amp circuit start out around 9.68kw then drops to 6kw

That’s not normal for a 50A circuit (40A charging). I get a steady 9.6kW all day every day. ChargePoint Home Flex @ 40A (50A circuit, hardwired).

but doesn’t the car lower voltage from the charger as you near the end of the charge cycle. 0-80% vs 80%-100%

That’s not normal for a 50A circuit (40A charging). I get a steady 9.6kW all day every day. ChargePoint Home Flex @ 40A (50A circuit, hardwired).

Only on DCFC, for AC charging, no.

I have a Juicebox 40 and have a nice steady line in less ic charge to 100 percent and then it starts to drop off at 90 percent in an arc to 100 percent. I always charge to 90 percent unless I am going on a trip and I get a nice straight line at 40 amps between 0 and 90 percent.

Correct - the charge rate will taper as the SoC approaches 100%. Even on AC.

I think it was also a charger port temp issue as the car was sitting in direct sun. I was stuck at 9kw all night so we’re all good. Thanks all!
