Non-Use for 2-4 weeks

Good day Mach-e drivers. I am new to the EV world and have owned my 2023 MME for just a month now. 2 weeks after I brought home my new MME, I had to go over see’s for 17 days. I have 8 days left before I get home. My MME is not plugged in and I left with 77% battery status. What can I expect to loose in 17 days? Will the MME go into any kind of hibernation after a certain amount of time of in activity? I ask because my Fordpass seemed to easily communicate the first 3-4 days. But now when I refresh it, it doesn’t seem to update.

The car has gone into deep sleep mode, which is why FordPass lost communication with it. I expect that you may lose 1-2% state of charge over that time period (if that).

Hi Randy, I often leave my Mach-E at the airport for 14-21 days and when I return, it is at the same SOC or 1-2% less. I don't know the exact amount of days it takes for it to go into deep sleep mode but when it does, I find sending a command to lock the car, even though it is locked, wakes it up enough to give me an updated SOC.

Awesome guys, thanks. I was really wondering about that “deep sleep“ mode. I couldn’t find anything about it in the manual. I really would like to know more about that mode……

We have a '22 MMEGTPE. We left it in the garage in Arizona (air conditioned) while we were gone for two months this past summer. After two weeks it went into deep sleep mode, which it did not come out of until we got home and physically pushed the start button in the vehicle. The state of charge was exactly the same as when we had left two months earlier (51%).

The state of charge was exactly the same as when we had left two months earlier (51%).

Jake, your SOC was exactly the same because your car was in a climate controlled garage and the temp probably didn't vary much. When I park at the airport for a few weeks, I don't see the SOC change unless the temp drops drastically which it has done a couple of times. Then it will be 1-2% less than it was when I left.

Yes, I'm sure the air conditioned garage helps tremendously. In the winter, it is heated, so the battery gets a pretty good environment here at home. A 1-2% loss parked at the airport is not bad, but I presume you are in California. I wonder what would happen to the battery of a car parked at the Minneapolis airport for 2-3 weeks in January?

Ha, I bet it would be worse. I can't remember the exact temps but they were something like around 100˚ when I got there and around 50˚ when I got back to pick it up. I usually get to the airport around noon and arrive back around midnight or so. My garage is also climate controlled. I have it set to 70 in the winter and 80 in the summer so charging and SOC stay consistent for me.

It may go up if you park on a cold day and it is warmer when you return. I have left my garage and driven 10 miles in the winter and my SOC has increased from 90 to 94% along the way.

You should be fine, left my 21 for 3 weeks with 80%soc, come back with 79% no issues at all, our 2020 crosstrek had a flat 12v?

I had the same result after 5 weeks.

I regularly let mine sit for 6 weeks to 2 months and never lose any power.

Mine was at the dealer for the HVJB for 89 days. HVB didn’t loose any % but the 12V went down - 10 weeks of sitting and the LVB was almost too low to “start” the car. Lesson learned - remotely start the car regularly (monthly) to charge up the LVB.
