My MME has been acting up lately. When I pulled my car into a parking spot on the left, I usually had to stop while the steering wheel was still turning. Several times, the car decided to move backwards after the car came to a complete stop (Regen). Parking lot surface is very flat and the car was in Drive.

Today, while I was pulling the car into a parking spot, the car decided to jerk to the front and it almost hit a pole. My foot was in the air when the car jerked off and I had to slammed on the brake. Same ground parking lot and the car came to a complete stop (Regen) and my foot was not on the the accelerator pedal.

So, besides the alarming news that your car is jerking off o_O, I'm reading this as you're driving with one pedal, and not using the brake pedal to slow down or stop as you park?

The jerking to the front can be if you hit the cruise by mistake, numerous people have done that. The backwards is likely due to autohold not engaging if I had to guess.

Lol you notice that part. I don't usually use the brake unless I have to and that includes pulling the car to a final stop in a parking spot. The insurance app gave me several red cards with just Regen motions.

I doubt that it was my hand. I am pretty consistent. I use my right to pull 360 camera and when I pull my right hand back, it would be between 4-5 o'clock. I had been doing this almost every weekday morning.

Is there a fix to the auto hold that you know of? Thanks in advance.

After PowerUp 6.1.0, I've noticed that the car maintains a higher speed when rolling on surface roads without any pressure on the pedal.

Maybe they tuned the software a wee bit that results in this, possibly on a few vehicles.

I would check each profile, and the Guest profile, to make sure it's turned ON.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

When mine pulls up on OPD it even backs up a hill a short way after stopping?

Are you using 1PD or 2PD? Auto hold?

The car can move forwards and backwards slightly (6") when using 1PD depending on the terrain. You might be in a flat parking garage, but there could be a slope near the spot for drainage.

Is there any chance you're shifting into neutral by mistake and/or pressing the accelerator pedal in neutral?

I’ve noticed this a few times but it usually happens on a slope and gets amplified if you’re still very slightly resting your foot on the accelerator. Backing out of my driveway the other day I slowed to wait for a car and it moved forward and backwards a few times on its own lol.
It’s not an auto hold setting issue, OPD automatically uses auto hold. turning it on or off won’t make a functional difference (except the green icon won’t turn on after hitting the brake pedal if it’s off). Most likely a programming tweak that needs to be retweaked. Like when ford decided it would fully release the vehicle even in OPD when taking off for the first time causing you to roll back 5 feet on a hill before regen kicked back in lol.

Thank you for all comments.

I checked my dashcam for this morning incident. The car completely stopped and then jerked FORWARD (a better word choice right? @RickMachE ). All profiles have 1PD and Auto Hold. Based on the videos, the car jerked FORWARD so it was not rolling motion. This happened in the middle of a parking lot and I do not recall any imperfection (slope that could cause this jerking motion). After my right hand touched the screen for the 360 camera, it went upward to block sunlight. I did not touch the drive knob or cruise control switches. Cruise control was not on and auto hold worked fine at 4 stop lights/signs.

For the moving backward events, it has happened more than twice. I would say 3-4 times at different parking spots in the same parking lot. Backward motions did not get much of my attention because I was looking forward. Today, the car jerked forward and I was panic. Lucky enough that I stepped on the brake not accelerator to make the car stop.

The car will be at the dealership at the end of November for the screen issue. Techs could not replicate the screen issue during the first two visits. For this time, the screen has bad pixels, so the fix would be at least getting a new screen. I doubt that techs will be able to duplicate self jerking out of stop issue.

Where did it say it will do this? It's very disconcerting that when I ever-so-lightly tap the accelerator with auto hold on it starts to move backwards. I've never let it keep going but are you saying it will stop in it's own after a few inches and it won't let me back into the car behind me?

Yes. If you’re on an incline it might roll down the hill a few inches before it brings you back forward and stops. Basically it takes a second or two to figure out how much extra torque it needs to hold you on a hill. It’s safe if you have a couple feet behind you.

Obviously you should practice this with no one behind, but it’s better if you just press the accelerator pedal more if you’re rolling backwards too much. It’s kinda like a manual where you have to compensate if starting on a hill.

This slow rolling backward happened on my driveway all the time but it was barely noticeable and I could feel braking power and noise. The backward motion on a parking lot on a flat surface is a totally different feeling. It is more like a jerking backward.

If you're using 1PD you should try turning of AUTO HOLD since that's redundant. Could be causing problems. Auto hold is useful for 2PD only.

When the car stops when using 1pd, I don’t think it uses the motors to hold it in place. Theres a slight delay then the mechanical brakes engage when sitting still. I assume this is why the car rolls forward a few inches when stopping at a stop light just before it completely stops. Regen is stopping you while moving then the mechanical brakes engage at the very end. This is what I’ve always assumed anyway. I’m probably wrong on this.
