I’m with you. A bit irritated that the chip shortage right at peak MME cost decontended my MME. This was one feature I was really expecting. I know there are aftermarket kits, but what I unreasonably expect is to go to the Ford Module accessories store and pluck the module off the shelf. ?

If the car has the module by the bumper, it can be activated by FORScan. If not, then it cannot be and 3rd party is the only solution. Several threads on this.

Jumping in here; I realize there are other threads on this topic but this one seems specific to 2023's.

I purchased my 2023 Premium a couple of weeks ago. The owner's manual has this:

I realize it says "If Equipped" for the hands-free liftgate, but it seems odd to me that Ford would include this in the owner's manual if no 2023's come so equipped from the factory.

Then, there is this sticker which appears next to the button on the liftgate that you press to close the liftgate when it is open:

It sure looks to me like Ford is telling me that I can use my foot to close the liftgate, but I haven't been successful in getting it to do so. I'm not sure what "SET" means, nor what the book icon is for. The QR code-looking icon doesn't do anything. If my Mach E doesn't have hands-free liftgate, why would Ford put a sticker next to the button telling me I can use my foot to close it?

The center screen does not have a slide option for enabling hands-free liftgate, but again the text at the top references the hands-free feature.

To determine if my 2023 Mach E has the correct hands-free liftgate module, where am I looking and what am I looking for?

I believe that the SET feature allows you to set where the teailgate stops when opening (if you have a low roof garage for example).

I can trade you my 21 AWD Select for your GT. You get park assist and foot activated lift gate, I get face melting acceleration, I can even deliver.

Yeah I was disappointed to find out I wouldn't get the kick liftgate feature when my 2021 order got converted to a 2022. But then I was pleasantly surprised when someone here on the forums found that 2022's that weren't supposed to have the feature actually had the hardware and it was just software limited AND that you could re-enable it if you have the hardware. I checked under the back of my car and I had the hardware installed, so I was able to enable the feature.

I've always been nervous when I take my car back to the dealership for service thinking that they will discover I have a feature I'm not supposed to have and remove or disable it, but so far so good.

I use the kick feature often and it is really handy. Unlike some people I have had very little problems with it working properly. I hope they bring it back by the time this MME wears out and I have to buy a new one.
