Departure Scheduling hit and miss this fall.

I do not think he is talking about remote start which has worked OK ever since it went Bluetooth. He may be asking for what the title says remote departure scheduling and the last time I checked (after it was in for door fault error hardware and to lower my L2 charging) it was still not working. You have informed me it does not work for you either has that now changed? This is cold weather remote battery preconditioning not remote start which only heats up the cabin. Not sure at their location if they really need cold weather battery preconditioning I know at -15F it is handy here.

RIGHT! I was truly talking about the "departing scheduling / preconditioning". I am in Atlanta, GA, and honestly, it is hotter than hot. But, during the winter it can get a bit cold. Alas, nothing like Chicago or something freezing like that...

Yes, departure scheduling is for preconditioning the battery in cold weather.

To answer your other post, buggy software in the fordpass app is not a reason to wait on this car IMHO. Hopefully setting departure times in the app are a little better this coming winter compared to last, but not a deal breaker for me.

You can always set a departure schedule in the car if you can't in the app. It's obviously not convenient and rather annoying, but setting in the car works 100% of the time.

Yup. As I posted it started working some time ago. I have no clue just when though.

Mine goes through the first time if empty. Then delete or modifying it after that has not. It will get the real test this November finger crossed but last time I checked a month ago it was still hit and miss.

It makes an electrons used difference for me is all. I’d prefer it stay working but I’m not holding my breath.

Update on departure scheduling for my November 2020 Job 1 build. Departure scheduling is the only way for this vehicle to precondition the main batteries prior to driving during cold ambient temperatures. Last November remote departure scheduling though the fordpass app did not work and continued not to work for the entire winter. Fast forward to this November. Departure scheduling has now worked for 5 of the last 5 times when set and sent through the app. I started simple as not to confuse my problem child. I would clear it in the car and send one through the app and this would work. The last time I just edited the existing schedule in the app and sent the new schedule and that worked. The last try is how I used it and it worked for the entire first winter, then nothing worked last and now appears to be working again. May not be prefect as I have not tested it enough but 5 out of 5 is about 5 more than last winter provided so I would say it is working a whole lot better this winter than it was last.

It wasn't documented in the release notes but there was an OTA to the vehicle at some point which stopped the vehicle from silently failing to write the changes, since departure times are stored locally.

I really have no reason to test it until around November so assume sometime between last spring and now.
