Hi all,

I know some EV's have pet mode and others an "eco" mode where you can be parked somewhere for hours but keep the heat on without draining your battery much (because the driving features are not getting any power). A friend with an Ioniq 5 only loses 1% an hour in pet mode with the heat on.

Is there a way to do this in the Mach-e? Do we simply turn the heat on but not turn on the car for drive mode?

Thanks!

Not very scientific but my wife got a haircut yesterday. Thought it would take 30 minutes so I waited ( ha ha.) I had temp at 70F for 60 minutes with about 4% drop at -10F outside temp (metal roof.) Should have gone for a cup of coffee!

I had to wait in the GTPE an hour with ac on and 1% seems right.

This is quite the rookie mistake for a guy named Grampy.
Well to be honest the last few she had did only take 30 min and I barely made it to the store and back. The real issue was I did not feel like stepping out at -10F I think! Guess it is all a matter of perspective as I went to my grandson’s birthday the next day and it was -25F! Can’t report on that as I took my ICE rig.

Disable auto shutdown timer and leave the car on. It's the only way on the Mach-E.
Ok! So, just to be
Would haved used the heated seats while waiting it uses way less power then the heater.
Just to be clear... if you need to wait somewhere like a Ferry Terminal for 90 mins (I live on Vancouver Island :) ), do you keep the car on as if you are going to drive and turn off the auto-shut off... or does the heat also work if you turn on just the battery (but not put your foot on the break to start the car)?

I am trying to figure out the best way to stay warm but not eat up all the battery life :) Yes, seat heaters will be on!

Yes, leave the car fully on. Never use accessory mode if you don’t want to kill your 12V battery.
