I did quite a bit of searching, and have a few tires noted, but hoping that someone in the southern US (or at least someone who has recently purchased tires with snow as a non-factor) can chime in.

I have a '21 Premium AWD with about 26,000 miles. The tires are pretty worn (car was required to have 4,000 miles on it before the dealer was allowed to sell it to me, so I think those first 4k were driven pretty hard ;) ).

It seems pricing on the 225/55/19's in general are in the same ballpark, so curious what tires people have put on and if they'd recommend (and, of course, where you bought/had them installed).

Thank you and hope this refresh of input is helpful to others as well!

Wow! My car has 23k on it and the tires are still in great shape.

How are you on checking tire pressure. I've noticed it harder to keep these tires near their target cold pressure ... a swing in outside temp has a bigger impact on tire pressure (either high or low) and that can result in needing new tires sooner.

I'm in Arkansas so we have a very similar climate to Texas.

Not specifically an "EV Tire" but I run a set of Vredestein Quatrac Pros and have been very happy with them. I purchased at Tire Rack and had them shipped to a local Discount Tire (same parent company) for install. I replaced the terrible originals at 41k miles and have 18k miles on this set.

It's an affordable quiet tire with very little if any range reduction and excellent rain performance. One issue I found in searching for tires is that there aren't too many good tires that fit with the XL load rating required by the Mach-E and these do.

It comes down to what you want that is different or the same as the factory tires.

The questions I would be asking myself would be how important is efficiency? Is it okay for me to lose some range? How important is having a very quiet tire? How important is handling and cornering and how important is longevity. Is there anything I would like to perform better than the factory tire or were you happy with its performance?

If you want post your thoughts and based on that I can make a recommendation.

When I owned a premium adding a little better handling, improving performance in the wet and adding comfort were my priorities. I didn't care about range. The Vredestein Hypertrac was a very good fit in a 245/50/19 105 XL with that higher load rating you can run less pressure 36psi and lessen impacts from bumps on the road. The cost in range because it's not a EV tire was 6-8% on the highway with almost no impact on city driving.

You will see similar range drops from other non EV tires like the pilot sport 4 a/s or DWS06+.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+ in 245/50ZR19. Same circumference so no issue with distance or speedo. Fits on the Premium rim (widest tire recommended). Range loss minimal. Looks awesome to my eye.

Moving to VA in February. Just put Michelin Cross Climates in a 245/50R/19 on my '21 Premium eRWD.

Wanted to thank everyone for their feedback, belatedly.

I let time get away from me a bit, so when I finally (today) took the car in for the annual inspection the tech sheepishly said "gonna have to fail you, these tires are too worn down". Of course I knew this.

In any case, went ahead and found the Hankook iON evo AS SUV 225 /55 R19 103V XL BSW at Discount Tire and setup to get them installed. I just ticked past 30k on the stock tires that came on the car, so needless to say I'm a bit disappointed they didn't last longer - though I am pretty excited to see how the ride is impacted with some fresh rubber!

For anyone else in the same boat/shopping, the tires ran $258 each so right around $1200 out the door (I did not select the Certificate(s)). Man I really prefer buying tires for the Prius compared to this :p

As a FYI the new Quatrac Pro+ is lower rolling resistance in both a 225/55/19 103v XL and 245/50/19 105v XL l. I went with the new Ultrac Pro summer in a 255/50/19 107w XL and for winter the Quatrac Pro+ in a 245/50/19 105v xl

If I were in Texas I would do a summer only like the Ultrac Pro or Michelin makes a pilot sport EV

Most of Texas will have low temperatures below 45F in Winter. All Seasons is a better recommendation for Texas. Don't want to be like this guy:

Probably a case where someone drove summer only tires in true winter conditions. Typically the rule of thumb is make the switch at 40 degrees.

But to your point at 40 an all season or all weather would provide better traction. I am a big fan of how much additional traction you get with summer onlys when the temps are right.
