When will these elusive adapters be ready from Ford or Tesla. Yes, I'm aware of a 3rd party one already available. I would prefer one made by TESLA since it is their proprietary software/hardware. February is now less than 5 weeks away o_O!!! As we have all seen the video this week of a local gov't commission speaking the the Tesla Employee stating Ford and GM will be "on-line" come February 2024. Well, we need adapters for this!!!! And Cat Guy from Hawaii, I'm already ready for your "Soon Tm" response. ???

I assume they won't be made available until February, at soonest.
And for the product managers, that means February 29th. Or February 30th if it’s a leap year. ??

First things first. Tesla has to switch the sides of the chargers so they will work with the charge port in the front left side. I'm thinking some time in 2030.

What is percentage of Tesla charge towers that will be available to non Tesla charging ?
20% ?

I don't think Tesla would allow access too all 100% of their chargers for non Tesla - can you imagine seeing EVs that block 2 spots ?

With how busy most Tesla chargers are without non Teslas; I can see a revolt from Tesla owners, fist fights, cars damaging each other struggling to fit into a charge stall, etc....

There are ~20,000 Tesla stalls. Farley said 12,000 would be opened to Ford. Probably just the V3/V4 stalls. I believe the older V2 stalls use a slightly different comms protocol, thus can’t be used. Those are being replaced rather quickly.

I think Tesla/Ford said something about 2024, so we might see them by 2026 if we're lucky. But you might want to wait for people to test the first wave of them first then get the upgraded/fixed version around 2028

I don't think the Superchargers I use on my trips from Florida to Ohio have a long enough cable to connect to a Mach-e, unless it is parked parallel to the chargers. There was one that was just barely long enough for my Tesla. A Mach-e parked parallel would take up 3 to 4 charging spots. An adapter with 4 or 5 foot extension cable is needed. Perhaps that is what is taking Ford so long to get one out. It is unfortunate that the charge port location on EVs was not standardized years ago.

Ford made it clear they were referring to V3 Superchargers in the message they sent to us Ford EV owners:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Where is the Tesla Adapter?? 1703699931271

They later said it will be 15,000.
