I have a 2022 GT. Just took it in for the 23S56 recall.

They said they did 3 software updates but didn't need to replace the box. Claimed wasn't necessary. However they didn't close it out either. Just in case it does need it in the future.

Seemed confusing to me. Is that correct? Can I now fast charge?

Dealer is Schaumburg Ford

Thanks

What’s your build date? You can see it on the label inside the drivers side door jamb.

Did you receive the recall letter? If your Mach was built after May 24th, 2022 then you are not part of the recall and have the same HVBJB we will be receiving.

Not sure on the letter, could have missed it. I went off the Ford Pass app, said in service section to take it in.

You can always fast charge and WoT. The issue is between Ford and its suppliers. As a customer you should not be disadvantaged by an under-speced or badly produced part.

I also think that you deserve a better dealer. Check with someone else. I had a good experience with Bredemann in Glenview. Ask for Joe the EV tech. He did good.

Thanks, I'll check with bredemann. I haven't been impressed with the current one.

Based on your info you are part of the recall and you should have your HVBJB replaced. Are you on your original part or has it been replaced previously? Some owners who’s HVBJB were replaced were removed (from what I read) from the recall list.

Has it been cleared now?
He said in his original post that they didn't clear it out.

IMO, a lazy dealer and @Ford Motor Company should be made aware of the experience because this is a recall action. They have wasted the OP's time by not completing the recall as required.

Just checked the vin. Came up for the recall also the Charge cord stuck reprogram battery charge control module one. Which was supposed to be fixed before.

I think I'm getting jacked around by rhorman Schaumburg Ford. I'll be reaching out to Ford as well as going to bredemann. My brother knows them.

Still enjoying the car!

Thanks

The recall is the software change that limits voltage through the HVBJB. With that software fix it won't weld open/closed anymore.

HOWEVER if you had damage from BEFORE the update, your HVBJB may still weld shut/open since it's been compromised. My understanding is they only replace the HVBJB if it's welded shut/open since they can't detect any pre-existing damage from before the software update.

I agree, go fast charge/WOT crazy if you want to do a force-fail. Then they have to swap it.

The repair is specific to the replacement of the HVBJB because of damage possibly occurred. If it's welded shut or open the part already failed. This is an admission that the part must be replaced for all vehicles covered by the recall.

This is a safety recall that Ford agreed with NHTSA to perform on all impacted vehicles. Dealers are in no position to weigh in on this issue. It’s above their pay grade. Would they take responsibility if the OP loses power on a highway and gets into an accident? This dealer is fucking ridiculous and should be slapped around for bad service.
