I am having an Autel installed on the 11th. The electrician I found only does EV and claims to be one of the first and only in the area installing Tesla products since 2018. He is highly rated everywhere I look.

He said Chargepoint was one of the best and did not advise getting a Grizzly. I used his opinion as part of my research, but not the only deciding factor.

Is there a conversion adapter so that my MachE can use the Tesla power station now, so I do not need to buy more power cords?
The new Tesla Universal Wall Connector comes with both NACS and J1772 plugs. No adapters needed. The other benefit it has is being able to load share with additional units if you have multiple EVs in the future and are constrained by your main's capacity. If you're in that price range and don't have incentives to purchase a specific device, it's probably the most future proof.

It looks like it also supports the vehicle to home power sharing in the Cyber Truck. I don't know if that's part of a standard other NACS cars will use the same protocols for or not.

If all you want/need is a dumb charger, there are several options for less money which people have had good experience with.

FWIW: I think Chargepoint allows guys to upcharge you on the Chargepoint box. this is exactly what an electrician in our area who “only does EVSE” Quoted Us.
“I only install chargepoint” Same guy did not know what a 6-50 was…

I am currently very happy with my Grizzl-E mini - everyone’s mission is different, choices are great.

I have both Mach E RT1 and a Model Y and use the Tesla wall charger and got the Tesla tap mini 60 ampadapter for Mach E. Working well so far.

So do you mind if I ask the question, what are the differences you find between the MachE and the model Y? I looked at the Model Y, it was more expensive for relatively the same trim levels. So I chose the MachE based on cost and deliverable time line. Not sure if it was a good idea but being my first EV, I am use to Ford and not so sure about what Tesla is like with servicing.
Thanks

I had the Ford Connected Charge Station installed a few weeks before I got my Mach in September 2022. It works well. No problems.

I have an Autel (NEMA 14-50) not hard wired. I received a $250 rebate from my local utility. I had read about the cable being stiff in cold weather but it has not been a major issue for me. (it was 20 degrees F here this AM) The charger has worked reliably for a year. No issues, easy to set up and the Bluetooth connection to the phone works fine. Also getting it on wifi was easy. I would recommend or buy again

Juice Box 40 for 2.5 years now. No problems. I did the "plug-in" version. However, I know "State of Charge" recommends hard wired out of safety concerns.

At the time, never informed the municipalities of my installation. However, have been told it should have been permitted. Did everyone else get theirs permitted by city or county? Am I the only rogue agent??

I bought the Autel, seems like a solid unit and ranks rather high. The lack of flexible cord in cold maybe an issue but I understand they came out with a new cord to address it. I live in Canada, southern Ontraio so the winters are not that cold and I decided to keep the charger in the garage so it is not subjected to the element. I would have preferred the Tesla charger frankly but it will take 2-3 weeks to be delivered so my Electrician would not be able to install this Friday

After researching I went with ChargePoint 50 amp hard wired. Never had an issue, since a year of installing it.
There a new charger out called PRIMECOMTECH 50 amp level 2. Which also seems good. I like the info cluster on the display it has.

I vote for Emporium as well. Lots of features with the app and cost is reasonable too.

Did you check with your utility provider? Not sure about Canada, but in the US, a lot of them offer rebates or subsidies on specific chargers.
Agree check with your utility provider before buying one. If they are like Xcel Energy, you won’t get the biggest discount unless you buy it through them.

Being a new owner to EV's, does anyone suggest the best charge station to install at home? I ordered the Autel Level 2 Home Smart EV Charger for up to 50 AMps. I noticed that there are a lot of different ones available. I am just not sure if there is a better one to install for now and into the future
I installed the Tesla Universal charger recently after using a few of the other brands. No issues over the last few months.
