Hi all,
I have a ‘23 MME AWD Ext Range, just picked it up a week ago and traded in a plug in Prius. I have an existing L2 charger (Bosch 810) that we’ve been using, It’s been flawless.
When I plug in the charger, I often get charging failures. It’s started charging right away just once. Most of the time, after about 15 seconds I get the red circle and an error message. After unplugging it and plugging back in several times, it eventually works. Tonight it took over 15 times. What’s causing the MME to be so finicky? Is this something that a software update at the dealer can fix? I’ve verified it isn’t my charger.
Thanks all!

How have you verified it is not your EVSE? Have you tested your Mach on other L2 EVSE’s. I would try that before I would assume either way.
Also might there be any software updates to your Bosch? I think I have read where some EVSE’s had issues until latest software updates were applied. Just brainstorming as I hope it is not your car!

A plug in Prius's on-board charger doesn't demand as much power as the Mach-E, so I wonder if that higher demand is triggering electrical issues. I agree, see if your car charges fine on a different level 2 charger if you can. If it charges fine elsewhere, I would have someone check your EVSE and the electrical work leading to it.

Could be a problem with your EVSE or power connection. Mach-E draws a lot more amps than a Prius, so can stress things in ways the equipment has never seen in its lifetime.

Try a few different public chargers to see if those work.

I'd recommend buying a high quality EVSE like a ChargePoint instead.
