I’m having the same issue and cannot find a dealership who will schedule me. I keep being told I have to get called back and no one ever calls back. I'm also in Norcal like one of the other posters. Its very disappointing, It seems like dealerships are hesitant to work on the Mach E. I talked with Ford on private message with the forum and they told me to take it to the dealership, anybody know of any good dealerships in Northern California that will work on a Mustang Mach E

(Edit) Sacramento area or Bay Area

Northern California is a huge area. What region (e.g., east bay, sac valley, etc).

Got my Mach E late November, had 6.13.0 for a little while. Just got the fault on a drive home after sitting for a couple hours. Infrared LEDs aren't even flashing on the module. Guess I'm going to see if I can take it in this week ?

I’m starting to think 6.13.0 is affecting 2023.5 models that already had BC 1.3 installed. My IR LEDs are also not flashing anymore.

Better experience in Seattle area with Mach E service. Had a liftgate position error at the time of purchase, got that scheduled and taken care of in a couple days.

Scheduled service for Driver Monitor Camera fault tomorrow morning, will update this thread with my experience/progress on what they say and do at Ford.

UPDATE: 2.5 hour service session at dealership this morning, they report a bad driver-facing camera module. The service guy just reads off the reporting he is given, and the only notes he got was that the service tech "couldn't talk or update the box at all", so it's considered a bad unit and they ordered a new one. I will admit I don't know the details of how the system works from a hardware standpoint, but the timing of this with the OTA software update affecting that system makes it hard to be convinced this is solely just a hardware issue.

Replacement unit ordered, sounds like Monday available at dealer.

Service person also indicated "this is first failed unit of this sort we have seen" for what that's worth.

The joy of just being on 6.3 which I got only a week ago.

So happy I lag months behind others In the OTA department

sorry that all of you have to deal with these issues. Always wonder what QC they go thru on their software.

Hi Mustang Mach-E Owners –

If you received software update 6.13.0 on your Mustang Mach-E and are experiencing issues with Ford BlueCruise, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. We want to let you know that if you are impacted by this, we are working to address the issue so that you can enjoy hands-free highway driving. As soon as the fix is available it will be sent via an over-the-air software update called ‘Priority Update: BlueCruise Driver Camera’ - so keep an eye out!

As a friendly reminder, to help ensure you are up to date on your software updates make sure you:
  1. Turn ON Automatic Software Updates — this keeps updates coming as they roll out.
  2. Set a recurring schedule — choose a time that is most convenient for you when your vehicle is typically parked, like overnight.
Once the software update is available, if you are still experiencing an issue using BlueCruise, please contact the Ford Customer Service Center at (800) 392-3673 or your local dealer.

Thank you for your patience.

People wear seatbelts because there is a non zero chance they will be involved in a motor vehicle accident. After reading this forum I decided to off Ford Automatic updates because there is a non zero chance the process will brick my car in some way which will require a visit to a dealer. Been at 6.13 since December and my trip with Bluecruise was flawless the other day. Wonder if over the air updates expose module failures where by the EEPROM or whatever they are using is faulty so its not the fresh code but the chip that is the issue?

How does this affect people who already have the problem? Mine has had the fault for about 2 weeks, I left it at the dealership since Thursday morning to get it fixed and they haven't even touched the car.

Very unlikely. Standard process for any sort of device firmware update includes:
  1. Verifying the integrity of the firmware install file by cryptographic hash.
  2. Backing up the old firmware before the new firmware install begins
  3. Installing the new firmware one "block" at a time
  4. With each block, verifying the writing of the block by cryptographic hash before proceeding to the next block or rewriting the block.
  5. If anything fails, reverting to the previous version.
Modern systems also often include A/B partitioning where the firmware is fully written to the 'B' partition while the live working 'A' partition remains untouched. Only once the write is fully verified as successful does the 'B' partition become the live partition and the 'A' partition become reserved for the next install.

In the end, it is far more likely that there is some sort of incompatible interaction due to the plethora of permutations present (alliteration ftw) in the components/settings/code in the various models of Mach E.
