Ford 360 is not Bluecruise

So, I was one of the first waves of the 2021 mach e mustang. I got lucky (supposedly) as someone who preordered a fully loaded was denied finance. Skipping the 10 month wait list, I stated if I was to buy it had to have the blue cruise aka ford 360 co-pilot.

Inquiring about getting my blue cruise turned on when I realized it wasn’t active, I learned my car didn’t have blue cruise at all. Has anyone else encountered this problem that you didn’t learn you co-pilot wasn’t capable of blue cruise until after you purchased it?

Based on what I’ve read here BC was active on 22 on. For 21s people have been getting it via a software update. And discounted subscription price. But don’t quote me on that.
Do you know what version of powerup you are on.

Right. I learned of BC1.2 to realized everything that 1.0 had wasn’t active on my car and should have been by now. Initially I was told because the software was in such an adolescent phase it would become active later down the line. I called ford and they are telling me I don’t have that capability even though I have ford 360 co-pilot.

Not all 2021 GTs or Selects have the package required for handsfree Bluecruise. I’m not sure which specific Mach-E you have. If it’s a Premium, you definitely should. If you have the tech package on a Select or GT, you also should have it. I don’t recall if all California Route 1s had the tech package baked in or not (I think they did).

Their profile says they have a GT. A 2021 GT would be a Job 2 vehicle, so if the right package was ordered it could have BC hands free hardware (IR drivers facing camera on the steering column) BC was not standard on GTs.

All Mach-E have Ford CoPilot 360. Which is this:

Does your car have the eye sensor? It’s the black bar that sits just above the steering wheel. If so, you’re equipped. Then you have to get the software enabled. Enjoy the $800 annual subscription.

There‘s a very easy way to tell. Do you have a glass roof? If not, you don’t have BlueCruise.

I don’t not have a glass roof. Again, things not disclosed to me that I didn’t know to look for. Dealer showed me how to activate and said it will become available when software is released. I called ford directly and they said my stick has ford 360 co pilot. I found ford 2021 articles that said blue cruise would be released over air to those who had that feature. I didn’t fully know what to look for given I had one of the few first Mach e on the road in our area.

You could order a 22 GT without the tech package. I remember because I had to order the glass roof to get it which I wasn't ecstatic over.

Your car wasn’t part of the first wave in 2021 since it was a Job 2 and would have come with functional BC from the factory if the hardware for it was included. Sorry you were misinformed by the dealer, but at least you now know to never trust anything a dealer tells you. I’ve never purchased a car without knowing every little thing about it first, so the concept of having to trust a dealer’s info is completely foreign to me.

The difference is in Co-Pilot 360/Assist 2.0 vs, Co-Pilot 360/Active 2.0. Yes, Ford bungled the naming and made them too similar. The former is standard equipment. The latter is the hardware package required for Hands-Free BlueCruise and currently on a GT-PE is tied to the glass roof. I wanted a metal roof on my 2021 GT-PE, so I was not allowed to order the Active package (even though my dealer tried and I was willing to pay for it). Now the Rally model is announced and it comes with a metal roof and the Active package. ??

CoPilot is the safety systems.
Assist 2.0 on MME is native, this is lane centering / radar cruise.
Active 2.0 is hands-free bluecruise.

OP is using assist 2.0
