Hi everyone. The last few nights i have been charging my vehicle at home and wondering why every morning it charged to 100% vs my preferred setting of 80%. After an hour of troubleshooting, i noticed that the Maps section in the Ford app has my car located about 2 miles away from my home. (It’s not 2 miles away) it’s in my driveway.

My theory is that my car is not detecting that it is at my home charger therefore it’s not using the preferred charger settings.

Has anyone seen or dealt with this?

It happens. Reset your center display. On the steering wheel, press volume done and skip ahead for and hold down together for 5 seconds or until the screen reboots. give it a few minutes to boot everything and relocate the satellites.

You may have to delete your home location profile and re-add it. Goofy the GPS is out that far but it is quite possible your map update glitched and you may have to delete and re-add your charge profile again when they fix it.

I just tried this as well. No luck. I have no idea what’s going on.

Does your GPS work properly with the Ford Navigation app?

You might try one more thing before taking it to the dealer. You can do a 12v reset if you are sure there are no updates in progress and you are comfortable doing this - This essentially reboots the whole car including all modules. The 12v battery can be accessed by removing the access panel under the hood between the frunk bin and the windshield. Remove the negative terminal from the battery for 10-15 minutes and then reinstall.

This will restart every module in the MME so if something is out of whack, it can straighten it out. After the reset, start the car and make sure the GPS is working. Then delete your charge location profile (in the car), plug in, and re-add your charge location profile again.

If that doesn't fix it you may be in for a trip to the dealer.

thank you very much. I’m going to try this this morning once I get to my office. This is very annoying.

why did they have to replace it? Did it just go bad, or was there physical damage? Did your warranty cover it?

definitely not physical damage lol

it was covered under warranty, i am in the warranty period. my dealer had no idea how to fix it they ended up sending someone from ford, waiting for parts, etc etc. first 2 trips they kept telling me they fixed it by doing software updates, which obviously did nothing. so overall this was 3-4 trips over the course of 2 months, with car in shop for maybe 3-4 weeks total. and they still broke something else in the end. but they did fix the GPS.

hope you have better luck
