Can you post a pic? I’ve only ever seen white.Blue and white oval dead center above the camera, yes it's blue..
When I had to replace mine I called my insurance company to inquire about it, he recommended a local place rather than Safelite. Given the nature of the windshield it had to be an OEM replacement, took 3 weeks for them to get it in stock, total cost was around $1500. On the way home from picking it up another rock hit the windshield, had to go back and get it filled ?I have a crack that has started 'walking' and I'm going to need to replace the windshield. I'd like to have it done by the dealer so that I know that I'm getting genuine OEM parts. I'm also concerned that the cameras behind the glass be calibrated properly.
I'm wondering if any of you can offer insights or suggestions on the best way to have this done.
I’ve had mine replaced by Safelight and they calibrate the cameras and even give you a certificate stating that. When you book the appointment just tell them you want a Ford windshield. Mine was free with my insurance. I have Geico.I have a crack that has started 'walking' and I'm going to need to replace the windshield. People say this on all forums. F-150 too.Does there seem to be a high percentage of replacement windshields here, or is it just me.
Anyone who chooses anything but a $0 deductible on comprehensive coverage isn't being too smart in my opinion. It is covered by comprehensive but if you have a high deductible it may not be worth claiming as you'll pay the whole amount anyway and end up with a claim on your CLUE report.
Prior windshield replacement threads indicate our car is self-calibrating and doesn't need to be calibrated by a technician.
OP let us know what your quote is for OEM glass. I also need to get my windshield replaced but am planning to wait another couple months for winter to end as the crack is in the lower third and not in my way visually.
Never ever get a windshield done at a dealer even if they say they can. It is not in their field of expertise so you are much better with a reputable business such as Safelite.I have a crack that has started 'walking' and I'm going to need to replace the windshield. Exactly, not sure about other states but Virginia comprehensive covers glass breakage and you choose your deductible, mine is $0.Whether you have glass coverage with a separate deductible, or no deductible, may or may not depend on the state you live in.
Yes, some states require no deductible.
Some states allow you to add no deductible glass coverage.
Anyone buying a Mach-E that doesn't investigate their options before they are needed is likely in for a big surprise.
Really?Anyone who chooses anything but a $0 deductible on comprehensive coverage isn't being too smart in my opinion.
Some states separate out the glass coverage, that's different than the comprehensive coverage.Exactly, not sure about other states but Virginia comprehensive covers glass breakage and you choose your deductible, mine is $0.
I stand corrected, just checked mine and it is a bigger savings than I realized, I may need to rethink.Really?
You do know that comprehensive coverage is not just glass coverage, right? And that the cost of selecting a zero deductible isn't necessarily small.
For my upcoming 6 month policy, selecting $0 glass costs $49 on the Mach-E and $38 on the truck. That's just for the glass coverage being zero.
My $250 deductible comprehensive coverage is $169 and $134. Taking them to zero wasn't economical.
Yeah, like I said Virginia does not separate the two. Some states separate out the glass coverage, that's different than the comprehensive coverage.
I agree with you . My question is is it the glass ? The windshield angle ? The angle of the front end ? Could it be a colder windshield because of the no engine heat/defrost ? Any combination of the four or just bad luck ?Does there seem to be a high percentage of replacement windshields here, or is it just me.
