Hello! Just got a new 2023 GTPE and the startup chimes are faster/more frequent than they were on my previous 2021 GT MME. The new sound makes me think there is a fault (like a door open or headlights on) but that doesn't appear to be the case. It has done this every time I have started the car since I got it a week ago and when I open the door while the car is running.

Anyone move from an earlier MME to a newer model and experience different startup chimes? Could be a me-issue but was trying to not sound crazy when I tell Ford service the new one "chimes faster" and get the mile-long stare :p

I had a 21 premium for 2.5 years and moved to a 23 gtpe last september. I'll be honest I don't remember the fasten seat belt chime in my 21 tho I'm sure it was there. I do notice it in the 23 which makes me think the sound may be different. It doesn't bother me and don't consider any different from the multitude of different sounds that have been used over the years to remind people to buckle up. I do note sometimes, infrequently even with seatbelt fastened I'll hear a chime or two.

Yes, it's so annoying! I thought it had some stored DTCs or something based upon how many beeps and the speed. I get 8 fast chimes without seatbelt buckled and I think 2 if the seatbelt is buckled. Turning off the seatbelt chime via instructions in the manual doesn't change the startup sounds. Hopefully they improve that or we can disable via forscan.

I just traded my 21 Premium for a 23 Premium X. This was the first thing I noticed too. The 8 chime/tone is loud and very annoying. I first thought it was the headlight switch ON and not in AUTO. I was searching through the manual to figure out what this loud alert meant. I’m not sure why Ford changed this ā€˜seatbelt alertā€˜ for the 23 models, but I hope a future update changes it back. It doesn’t need to be that loud.

Thanks for the confirmation. I also thought it was either the headlights, an open door (or door sensor), or something similar.

I hope an update changes it back too!
