No, because it knows no one is in the seat. Same reason it doesn't chime for the passenger, that isn't sitting next to you...How do these seatbelt chimes work with remote start (on an ICE or a BEV)? Does it constantly beep until you get to the car and climb in and buckle up?
This is among the best features of my '98 Lexus: no seatbelt, no annoyance - blissful silence!Seat belt chimes are supposed to get more annoying this year due to updated IIHS guidelines that require them to ding almost continuously until you put your belt on. Looks like Ford may have implemented this for 2023 models.
No, it cannot! At least it did not work for me, not entirely.
Good question. I disabled them in my Lightning and the next time I started it - no chimes. Shortly afterwards, I had to pull a fuse to reset the BCM which reset the chime. I need to perform the procedure again. No, it cannot! At least it did not work for me, not entirely.
I only get four of those chimes, when I start without fastening the belt. Plus, there are intermittent chimes as long as I drive, until I fasten it. If I fasten first, no chimes.
So I disabled the warning chimes as instructed. The intermittent chimes are gone. But the four initial startup chimes remain, if I have not buckled. Is that how it's supposed to work? Partial disabling of the seatbelt warning, not complete disabling?
Same for me. As far as I know this procedure does not disable the start-up warnings. Maybe with FORScan? I always wear my seatbelt when driving, even across something small like a parking lot. But this feature is really annoying to me as I have always turned car on then immediately buckled. Turns out doing that for decades is hard to undo. No, it cannot!
