In the article that I posted, the wealth has shifted dramatically from the lower 99% to the top 1% in recent years. You seem to be worried that it may shift back to where it was before?

"The top 1% holds $38.7 trillion in wealth. That’s more than the combined wealth of America’s middle class, a group many economists define as the middle 60% of households by income. Those households hold about 26% of all wealth."

The Economy seemed to do quite well when the CEO pay was in check so to speak.

Bottom line is there is so much in the pie. The bigger slice for the Ultra rich leads to a much smaller slice for the "non-rich".

The only difference is that people like you seem to be content with a very small percentage holding most if not all of the cards.

It is not sustainable at this rate. When the lower class suffers, history has shown over and over again that through Revolutions the cards come tumbling down and they usually bring the fat cats with them. Lose-lose

Societies that are kept down also bring crime and other things that come with it that affects us all.

And why stop at letting the Rich get richer. Let us bring Kings back and bring back full circle. ?
Sure….. but none of this has anything to do with unions.

If we gave 100% of CEO pay to factory workers it would be negligible.

But to the argument about unions, we don’t need to speculate to see “what a world with and without unions TODAY” looks like because it already exists.

Florida is and has been anti-union for a very long time.

Detroit has been run by unions for a very long time.

I know where I would rather live and work.

Okay, one last time and I will try to make it simple for you.

Let us say in this scenario the "Roofing Company" is the Union man.

My neighbor just replaced his roof the other day and you came along and stated, "That roof looks great!! No need for that Roofing Company again, after all it is brand new"

A storm comes through and damages the roof. The Roofing Company has since left town and the only people that you can get is a teenager to crawl onto the roof. In fact, that Roofing Company has left the Country entirely.

While you seem to suggest because of past practices of the Unions that made the rules and laws change for the better and the wages seem to pretty good, we can just now shitcan the Unions because all is fixed.

Go ahead and disband the Unions. Slowly but surely, your State along with cities you seem to despise, fall on the way side. Now we are back in the same shithole that many workers were in before Unions started.

The same happened to the Voter rights in the South. The Supreme Court said that the voter rights have been "fixed" and we can drop the whole voter right thing. I am sure nothing will change.

I am quite confident that you will not understand my analogy but at least I tried to explain it the best I could.

Have a great day my friend,

No need for analogies.

We are talking about unions inside the US in the car manufacturing industry.

We can see the direct results.

A hundred years ago- yay unions! You helped create the 40 hour work week, overtime and sick/vacation pay. Workers comp and other things. Thanks!

50 years ago- with all the federal laws now in place, you got greedy and push for higher wages to justify your existence still and destroyed places like Flint and Detroit.

Today- you are obsolete. Places like Florida where unions have little to no power are thriving while the union controlled cities are a hot mess.

So yeah, not a fan of unions today. They did serve their purpose, but that was a long long time ago.

If you desire to live back the way it was 100+ years ago, Florida is your place. They are definitely trying to do all they can to do away with a lot of precedence and restrict rights for many.

Good luck with all of that:crazy:

False and irrelevant to the discussion of unions. But you do you I guess. There is good reason why Florida has one of the highest population growth rates in the country. And no, it’s nothing like it was 100 years ago.

Reducing labor costs by undercutting union wages might lower EV prices in short-term, but it would cost the long-term health of the EV/auto industry and the economy. Good-paying union jobs not only ensures quality and worker satisfaction but also stimulates the local and national economies.
The problem is you'll lose both to foreign competitors: American companies AND the union labor. It's been happening for decades already.
