Hi Guys,

I brought my Mach E GT 2022 build and received it in Jan 2023 (UK). I had a yearly service done on it and they guys at the dealership said my 2 front tyres where worn down to 3.1. It came with Pirelli P Zero 245/45R20 103Y. Just wondering should i stick with the originals or what tyre would best suit the Mach E GT for performance and all round conditions.

Cheers for the heads up.

Hi Kieran, I'm sure you aware that the Pirelli P Zero tyres that come with your Mach-E GT are summer performance tyres. They have a low wear rating of 280 which is typical for a summer performance tyre. Unless you really need a tyre like this, I would suggest a performance all season tyre which will have a much higher wear rating. You will most likely double your tyre life and an all season will allow you to drive it in colder temperatures (below 7˚C) which you should not be doing with a summer performance tyre.

If you only want to replace the front two tyres then you should get the same exact type you have now. However if you want an all season tyre I would recommend getting one with a low rolling resistance so you won't loose a lot of range. There are two good tyres in the 245/45/20 size that have a high "B" rating for rolling resistance (no A ratings) and those are the Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season and Continental AllSeasonContact which are both very good tyres.

Same problem happened to me a few months back as my OEM Pirelli performance tires didn't make it to 20K miles. However I am very much into keeping the performance aspect of my GT PE, so replaced them with some kind of performance oriented tire that was promised to have much better tread life with little sacrifice to performance. We dont drive the car outside of its range more than a couple times a month so that isnt as big a deal. The problem is I can't recall the model so need to look at the car tonight when I get home. Can you wait till this evening?

I have Continentals on my premium as well as my GT. Very good
I know I replaced my OEM Pierillis with Continentals but can't recall model but I bet its same as yours. If so, I have been happy and haven't noticed any drop in performance (atleast at my driving level). I will confirm tonight.
