Only being on this forum for the last couple of months, I did not realize how popular this car is west of the Mississippi and the northwest. Because how cold affects batteries and what not I figured down south, east of the Mississippi there would be quite a bit of these down here, but it just seems that 90% of all these mustangs are out on the West Coast area or Northwest or Canada for that matter.!

The thing is weather in the northwest and western Canada by the border is not what you might have expected. Winter temperatures are usually in the mid to high 40s. Rarely gets below 32°. Nothing like the Midwest and plains states. There is a reason I live here.

Growing up in northern Michigan on Lake superior I mean the weather has definitely changed, and we never saw a tornado up there now nowadays there’s tornadoes up there and I remember, when I used to watch Fred couples play golf talked about where he grew up in the northwest constantly raining The last couple years I’ve heard the drought in the northwest It’s getting better up there?

There is still a lot of rain in the Northwest. My dogs are all from WA and stand in out Bay Area rain looking at me like I am crazy when I tell them to get in out of the rain. “This is just a light mist” is the kind of reaction they give me. Unless you’re high up in the mountains, the NW of the US doesn’t get cold. ??

Just from guys, I used to play golf with, and cars at the charging station. It seems like the majority of them around here are either that Chevy, or the Hyundai maybe a couple of Volkswagens but the Mustang and the guy works at the quick lane and me lol

In Tucson the EV density increases dramatically from the less affluent to the more affluent areas of town. Hopefully that will change as prices come down.

In mid 2022 I could go weeks between local MME sightings. Now I see them almost every outing ?.

My son is in Tucson. I haven’t been out there for a few years and I did not see any electric out there when I was there.

I have not seen that many Mustangs in northern Virginia, although there must be many more than I’ve noticed. Teslas on the other hand are all over the place, like insects. I think I’ve probably seen more Hyundais/Kias than Mustangs. Not too many VWs. A few Rivians and Lucid Airs, and obviously Bolts.

Being of Swedish Heritage, I saw a commercial today for I think it was a pole star? I didn’t see the whole commercial, but I heard Swedish design. Wonder how that car is rated?

The temps here in Seattle are very mild. Cool in the winter, and warm in the summer. We get maybe a week of freezing and a week in the low 90s.

Now that you mention it, I have seen a few Polestars and Volvo electrics in NoVA. No idea how they’re rated. Tesla seems by far the dominant EV type in this area, I suspect that’s still the case in most places.

I was just looking at their website. That’s a pretty nice looking car and the on a DC charger from 20% to 80% in 28 34 minutes sounds pretty good.

Went out to lunch today and we saw another Mach-E. We see one about once a month in Oregon.

Another factor you need to consider is gasoline prices. Who has the highest gas prices? The West Coast followed by the Northeast. Buying an EV with a state regulated price for fuel and a more efficient power train makes more sense than in other states. Plus you need to be more willing to try a new idea. Something that is less common in more conservative states.
