Just saw this new site go on PlugShare near me. Is this charging station apart of that agreement dealerships had to make in order to keep selling EVs? Haven’t seen one like this before.

Those look like the same dispensers that Ford is/was testing at the Ford Vehicle Performance & Electrification Center. You can see them on PlugShare HERE.

I swung by the Electrification Center a few months ago to test them out. They had half the stalls blocked off at the time for some reason, but my charge session went well. I used tap to pay on the CC reader because I did not have plug and charge configured yet. Everything worked as expected.

Yes. Those are the DC chargers Ford wanted dealer to buy for Model e Certified. They are made by Power Electronics.

Dealers can install other brands of chargers besides the Ford-supplied ones, they just have to meet the same requirements.

My local dealer has the pedestals in place and they’ve been doing prep work this week so I’ve got my fingers crossed. I live in a remote location where 50kW Flos are the best thing available and I understand the Ford unit is something over 150.

Has to be 120 kW / 300A minimum.

My local dealer installed Chargepoints and turned them on last month. $0.55 / kWh, with a $5 minimum! Outrageous pricing. I wonder how many people will actually charge there? In 6 months, I could see them saying it's a failure because no one ever charges there. https://www.plugshare.com/location/579990

My local dealer recently turned on their chargepoint dcfc and it is priced at $0.30/kwh at a speed of 120 kw.

power electronic's units... every time i see one I think of FPL EVolution units which uses two different types. But yeah, I think this is part of the "you have to have a dcfc to be a ford E dealer" thing.

Interesting. My local dealer declined the opportunity to get e-certified this go-round. It is a rural dealership, and the power required to meet Ford’s specifications for DC chargers is not available on that side of their small town. It would have cost them something like $3 million to get it done, which just did not make sense given their volume of sales I suspect.

Is there a list of Ford dealerships which offer 24 hour charging? There are places I would like to travel which have few EV chargers but lots of Ford dealerships.

Our local dealership also has those. They are on a public drive and so far have never been blocked by cars for sale. I think I read they have to have them online by June as part of the EV specialist program.

The dealership I bought from just installed a DCFC from Red e? Never heard of them. I don't use them anymore but I'm curious to see what they've installed.

Completely unrelated, but there is also a large Siemens office near me with what looks like two DCFC units tucked away in their lot, in addition to the 6 or 8 L2 they have. Will need to poke around one week-end.

My local dealership has level 2 chargers. And not even 40amp+… they are like 20 amp I think, because my home charger is 40amp, and charges way faster.
