I probably won’t travel enough to use one even though I’ll have my adapter, but my home charging is four cents.
Wow, $0.04 ?

That's amazing - almost free electricity.

Gotta love how much I have to pay to Southern California Edison:

Why don't you charge in off-peak.

This is a great illustration of the reality that due to widely varying electricity rates, people need to avoid making statements about how much home is cheaper than public charging or vice versa. It shows that it is very situation dependent.

Make sure you look at the fully loaded costs. My off-peak rate is .005 plus .045 plus .011 plus .081... 14.3 cents. That is the winter rate, summer goes up some. Peak is .01 plus .112 plus .011 plus .08... 22.5 cents. We never charge in peak.

SCE customers are getting screwed. I’m with LADWP and with a TOU meter I’m paying 19.5 cents per KWH this time of year
Well, in that case, you guys sure as heck don’t want to know what we pay for electricity at the residential rate here in Alabama (thank you TVA!)

…. BTW, our residential rate is .084 KwH - yes 8¢ a KwH ?

most of the EV drivers around here find a rate of .32 ¢ a KWH absolutely scandalous???

most of the EA stations around here charge a very expensive $.19¢ a KWH ??

waiting to see what the BuckEEs EV network is going to provide (I believe their contract is with ChargePoint 6 stall DCFC station at all of their locations).

Alabama is a per minute state with EA, charging 28 cents.

  1. Expanded network allows travel to areas that were previously not easily accessible
  2. Faster charging than 90% of stations
  3. Highly reliable, you know it will work
  4. More stalls per location (8+) in case it gets busy or one is broken
  5. Better amenities (food, bathrooms, etc)
  6. Locations are closer to the main highway than other networks
  7. Lighted location at night
I went on a recent trip that was only really feasible because of the Supercharger network. Two months ago that route would have been horrible without them.
Yes...exactly what he said. Which equals to a game changer and allowing range anxiety end for all pony lovers!! LET THE EV ADVENTURES BEGIN?

What's the big deal?

You don't have to hang out at Walmart while waiting to charge with Electrify America. Most Tesla Superchargers are conveniently located to restaurants and shops.

Except in Chicago when it's below freezing.
That was mostly a problem with the cars not accepting a charge because their batteries were too cold. Some of the supercharger cables were frozen, but most of them were still outputting power.

Yes, it wasn't a Supercharger problem but their dead car is blocking the charger so you won't be able to charge either.
