My car has a weird new habit - when I turn on cruise control, it automatically turns on lane centering (or Blue Cruise if on a highway). If I turn off cruise control, lane centering is staying on unless I turn it off separately

Is there a setting that got changed? (I couldn't find one in the settings). A change in design or a new software bug?

I noticed it I believe shortly after I got the HVBJB recall done (a few weeks ago).

Lane keeping is a button on your steering wheel (lower right of the left side cluster). Automatic BC is a choice in the menus, maybe under the vehicle options.

It's on adaptive cruise control.

To clarify, in the first 2 years/30,000+ miles I've had my car, I would turn on cruise control with the button in the lower left of the left steering wheel cluster - adaptive cruise control would come on and that's it. If I hit the lower right button for lane keeping, then lane keeping (or BlueCruise if cruise was already on) would turn on.

Now, when I press the cruise control button, both cruise control and lane keeping turn on (if I'm on a highway, BlueCruise turns on). If I press the cruise control button again to turn it off, lane keeping stays on unless I press the lane keeping button too.

Not a big deal, but definitely different behavior. Trying to figure out if this is a setting that was changed, possibly when the HVBJB recall was done, or if this is a new bug. Can't seem to find a setting but it's possible it's there!

Sounds like a recent software update, sadly. Weather it becomes a bug is to be seen.

Driver Assistance settings. Turn off what you don’t want there.

Yes, they had trouble with people not getting BlueCruise to activate because steering control was turned off, so they made it automatically turn on.

If you disengage cruise control, only lane assist is active, not lane centering.

Aha, interesting, so this is a new feature and I'm not going insane. Thanks!

And yes, lane assist, not lane centering, good catch!

If I turn lane assist off in the settings can I still turn it on with the button to engage Bluecruise? I do not like it turning on every time I engage cruise control. I'll have to get out and test it I suppose.
