I have a 2023 CR1 and love it; zero problems so far!

I have a question about BC going around curves. Here's what I notice: I'm driving hands free going fast enough (~65mph) around a highway curve that it requires BC to make an effort to stay centered (I'm never going crazy fast). Every time it tells me to Resume Control. Resume Control doesn't appear if I'm only going 58mph.

Here's my question. Does BC have the capacity to slow down if the speed of the MME is a bit too fast for the sharpness of the curve? If not, what's the point of BC? If so, why doesn't BC just slow down.

Thanks!

Yes, but it depends on the road geometry. If the entry to the curve is too abrupt, that can trigger the steering rate limits that cause the resume control warning to appear. Driving slower will give more headroom before that rate limit is reached. You should go into the settings and turn on Predictive Speed Assist. Then the car will slow down in advance of curves.

Not sure about BlueCruise, but I know my Mustang Mach E definitely slows down in standard cruise control whenever approaching a turn on (what I think are pre-mapped) city streets. I’d imagine BlueCruise would be similar, though I don’t have many windy roads to activate it where I live.

It improves when you get 1.4.

BC1.3 and above will slow the vehicle to the speed it can take the curve when operating hands-free. It sounds like you probably have 1.2 and will receive the update Soon™.

Driving back roads, curvy, twisty, up and down, adjusting speed, changing speed limits MME does so well, and these are the sorts of road trips I like to do. Very little of it is BC. I have been using lane keeping since 2018, so am comfortable with hands on the wheel, but letting the car do the steering.

ps - on standard cruise you can take your hands off the wheel for about 30 seconds so long as you are watching the road before the car sounds warning.

How do I check which version of BC I have?

Not precisely sure. I bought it in Nov. of 2023. Any way to check?
It is on your window sticker and on the metal plate inside the driver's door.

You don't. What was the date of manufacture of your Mach E?
How does that determine the version of BT? It's only an educated guess at best.

Bottom center of the sticker, right sequence of numbers.
Mine was born December 9 2020.
