No, it's exactly the same. Still bad lag at times.

No changes.

I didn't ask them about this. The cooling system redesign for 2023.5 was a bigger deal than adding a heat pump since that added waste heat recovery. I don't think a heat pump will be added until the next major redesign of the Mach-E, it's not economically worth it. Heat pump would make less than 7% increase in range at highway speed, only in a specific temperature range, and would probably add $1000 to the vehicle cost, so it's hard to justify until economies of scale are involved.
Incredible detail review : Well done Sir!!

Are they any suspension change for the 2024 GT as for springs? May be they went to progressive instead of the linear.

Plaid level performance? Like 9 second 1/4 mile performance?? ?

That’s a………high bar to set. The 1000+ hp fastest accelerating production SUV and sedan ever. So no Fords until they’re faster than every Ferrari ever made. Got it.

Just curious, before the GTPE, what was the fastest car you’ve owned?
That's a great question, and presents an unintended consequence from acquiring the GTPE for me personally.

I'm approaching the last chapters of life and have a barn full of machines that reveal my nature and pursuit of motorcycle/car/truck performance.

I couldn't possibly know how much time and effort and expense has been afforded the more than half a century of that pursuit, but I do know that the Mach-E GTPE almost instantly changed the value equation for acceleration.

Or put another way, I no longer feel the need to squeeze more power out of my 987 Porsche flat-6. In fact, I think I now enjoy it even more because of the GTPE. :)

No changes there that I know of. Springs are linear.

I hope when it comes time for a full refresh Ford moves to an 800V architecture (lithium-based LV would be nice too, lead-acid straight up sucks). While it's nice to see improved DCFC speeds, 150-160kW peak shouldn't be considered acceptable in 2024. Also please give us an in-vehicle charge speed monitor, you did it for the 24 Lightning.

Yeah, I used to want to throw headers and a healthier cam in my 69 Mach 1, but for now my acceleration itch has been scratched. I’ve owned a few daily drivers that ran mid 12 1/4 miles, but the GTPE is still the fastest.

Even drove a Ferrari 296 GTB (818 hp hybrid) around a track this year. It’s the fastest rwd production car built to date.

And the Plaid is even faster.

I’m just shocked to hear that “plaid” would be the new bottom line performance standard for someone so I want to hear the rest of their story. Fighter pilot for a living? Formula 1 driver? Alligator wrestler?

Be curious to see what Darren Palmer has to say about the 23.5 & older Mach-e's software update on the 5sec/72MPH. Someone recently mentioned he's being interviewed or some other deal in the next week or two I believe.

The changes are good, but I am amazed that even having several years to work on it, and knowing what the issue is, Ford still remains at the back of the l pack when it comes to thermal management. Otherwise, it's a heck of a package.

LOL I still have the itch to build an aluminum block monster motor for my T/A, maybe with the aluminum tunnel port heads. Umm.. For front end weight reduction. Yeah, that’s the ticket. ??

Seems like if Ford gave Dickson the budget, she could get her engineers to whistle up the models and deploy the changes to production for 2021-23 cars.

I just don’t think Ford has any appetite for that since the only way it could pay for itself would be via paid OTA and there’s a risk of blowback for offering performance improvements for cash.
They advertise the car on the benefits of OTA updates. "Your car improving over time."

It feels like it's mostly been bug fixes and UI tweaks (as a relatively new owner). Both good things, and nothing I have experienced on any previous car. But actual new features (BlueCruise 1 to 1.4...) not so much.

To be fair, I would bet your T/A has the ability to go AND stop effectively. My Mach 1 lacks the 2nd category so more power isn’t what it needs just yet. ?

Yeah, I upsized the front rotors. Not much of that car hasn’t been molested. I even changed out all of the gauges for earlier model gauges (8K tach, 160 Speedo, fuel gauge that doesn’t say “Unleaded Fuel Only”), swapped the automatic console for a manual transmission console and bent the throttle pedal to put it a little closer to the brake pedal. Of course, the car was all stock when I more than doubled the HP by throwing the 455 in there where the 403 formerly resided when the car was brand new. ??

Does anyone have details about this B&O Beosonic sound configuration that appeared in @OutofSpecKyle video?

Any chances of that being released for previous year models as well?

Screenshot 2024-05-30 at 1.04.45 PM.png
Haven’t seen details but I would expect we all get this eventually. That seems to be the case so far with new model years and software interface updates.

When?

Soon. ?

So I did have a correction come in regarding the front motor upgrade. Turns out the PREMIUM and SELECT AWD models got the front motor and wire upgrade, not the GT models. I haven't really seen this mentioned anywhere yet, but there's a decent boost in the torque figure which improves the 0-60 time as well. So that's good news if you were interested in a new Premium or Select AWD.

Wow that’s pretty significant.

Seeing as the 2024 premium models have been on the road for a while now, how has this not been mentioned??

Looks like the SR AWD has 325 hp but the same 500 tq.
