My problem at this point is that apparently nobody knows.
I spoke with EV support @Ford Motor Company, they told me to talk to the dealer.
I left the car 2x at the dealership with a request to update the BC, and as far as I can tell I am still at 1.0. Every time a different explanation
There is no way you will see your dealership upgrade 1.0 AND activate the features of 1.2 (1.3/1.4)

They might upgrade the modules successfully for you and as a result your BC 1.0 will perform better, as will Adaptive Cruise/Lane Centering. But I would be shocked if they performed the task to turn on Lane-Change and Lane-bias for you. Editing Asbuilt values in your APIM and IPMA is not in their tool chest, so to speak. Probably would be frowned upon anyway.

We are ALL waiting for the next gen BC.
You won't get an intermediate update (1.2 or 1.3)....

Thank you, now it’s starting to make sense.
so, if the dealership cannot and OTA won’t update, I have just one question left: why in heaven does @Ford Motor Company expect me to pay a subscription for software that is 2y old and will be updated when stars align?

I would not subscribe to Netflix if all the shows are released with 3y delay either.

Maybe I just have fat fingers, but I cannot get this function to work consistently. At least half the time I get the orange canceled by driver message. Has anyone figured out the trick? Am I holding too long? Not long enough? I tend to push the stalk up or down just as I would for a 3-blink lane change. I am careful not to bump the wheel while doing so. If I lock the stalk it always works, but that does not seem like it should be necessary.
For me, cancelled by driver, only occurs when I bump or touch the steering wheel during the process.

I would fault nobody for cutting Ford off from Bluecruise revenue. Certainly Bluecruise 1.0

And as impressed with Bluecruise 1.3/1.4 as I am in both vehicles I have with it, the slim choices Ford offers me for subscribing (annual/monthly) will have me opting out when my trial/subscription ends. Which has recently happened on the Mach-E. I still have 1 year left on the truck.

I think it is well worth some price-per-mile. But I don't have the opportunity to use the feature enough to warrant the monthly offer. And Bluecruise 1.0 feature set is basically Adaptive Cruise/Lane Centering, as far as I feel.

I feel the same.
Actually, considering competition offering right now, I am leaning towards ditching the car and changing brands.
One of the main value propositions for EV for me is low touch maintenance and this car is so far anything but.
Driving on old SW is not why I bought an OTA capable car. Certainly not to drive it to the dealer to get SW updates.

Are you saying lane change assist is working but only when you fully engage the turn signal and not by tapping it for engage the 3-blink routine? If so, that is not how it's supposed to work. Pull the AB data from the IPMA in your car with FORScan and send it to me. I don't trust that what I see with FDRS will be accurate in your case.

I absolutely enjoy the heck out of both the Powerboost and the Mach-E. They are amazing to drive/ride/commute/travel in.
But without a Mongoose and FDRS access, I would be far less enthusiastic about them.

I actually enjoy the self-service experience, but realize not everyone would.

Why wouldn’t we? If ‘23s are delivered with 1.2 or 1.3 and it is essentially the same underlying HW, why are we still waiting?
I am lacking understanding why the existing owners - the early adopters of you want - are penalized with wait for another, better version.

No it works with a tap sometimes - it just often says canceled by driver - like I'm not tapping it enough, or too much. I get it with a tap about half the time.

Did you ever get any OTA's after we did what we did with your IPC or not yet?

If you assist the steering wheel with any effort after initiated the lane change request tap, doesn't THAT trigger the Canceled By Driver alert?

No, haven't received anything further. I think I was fully up to date aside from that missing IPC update, As I don’t believe anything new is come out in the last several weeks. Could be wrong.

Related rant:
I don’t understand why this car’s blinker stalk locks up and down at all.
Isn't this how it works on most all cars? For reasons that have been well-known for many decades? When you are waiting on a line or at a stop light to make a turn, you don't have to keep holding the stalk. Did I misunderstand your not understanding?

BTW, you really need to work on your ranting skills...

On my 2015 Explorer, the stalk returned to its original position and would cancel like any other car after a turn. For lane changes I would have to tap the stalk again to cancel.
For the MME, it would have been nice to have it function this way, that way BC can cancel it after the lane change.
