I’ve used BC before but never in stop and go traffic.

I found that it works well. I experienced that it’s kinda slow when you go from a dead stop and when the traffic starts going. Leaving a big gap between the car in front of you and cars cutting into the gap.

Figured out that by pressing on the accelerator you can close the gap.

I had it set with a 4 car buffer. I’m thinking if I set it up to a two car buffer it might accelerate faster?

All in all I think BC works well in traffic.

Still not going to pay for it in two years when my trial ends unless Ford lowers the price significantly.

In traffic set it to gap 1 or 2 and use Engage or Unbridled drive mode for faster acceleration after a stop (or manually press the pedal). More than gap 2 and you’ll get people cutting in front of you in my experience.

I had it in whisper.

What you said makes sense.

Yes I know. I just don't drive much since retiring and I'm usually not out in heavy traffic. I seldomly use BC.

I also just used BC in traffic for the first time. It was interesting but not sure I’ll use it very often. The only issue was I got behind a semi. He changed lanes opening up a huge gap. The car started accelerating aggressively and another car to the left pulled into the gap in front of us. Had to hit the brakes pretty hard.

Seems like what you're all describing is adaptive cruise functionality which you'll have even if you don't renew bluecruise.

Ford keeps saying and I keep waiting and waiting for the BC update. By the time the update arrives my subscription will be done in 2025. BTW, attention Ford, BC not worth $800!

No idea how you can handle a 4 bar gap. I have mine set to 2 or less at all times. It's pretty good at braking, no need to worry about hitting anyone.

Except it was hands free.

Right, so if you don't renew, that's the only piece you'll miss out on in terms of what you described.

Personally, I use the heck out of bluecruise because my inlaws are an hour drive away on the highway....but if it weren't for that drive...it's not at all worth it to me to just have the ability to be hands free.
