I wanted to share with you something fascinating that I noticed in the Real Mustang/Not a Mustang debate. In Quebec, several public organizations have decided to acquire Mach-Es as company vehicles. Each time, there's a public outcry, because when people see the name "Mustang", they get the impression that the public administration has decided to buy sports cars and shamelessly waste public funds by doing so. I have to explain every time that the Mustang Mach-E in Select version is not a sports car, but rather a four-door electric SUV, like the Tesla Model Y and at about the same price. The average price of a new car in Canada in 2023 was $67,000 CND, and the Mach E Select sells for around 50,000 with government subsidies. It seems that when it comes to criticizing vehicle purchases for government fleets, for the general public the Mustang Mach-E is indeed a real Mustang.

Here's a link to an article published today. It's in French, but you'll get the general idea. https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2...ustang-mach-e-pour-les-employes-dhydro-quebec

Looks like they are using California Route 1s. More cost than a Select in 2023.

I am American and I can safely say that Canadians have a much better grasp on almost all things better than the Americans in general.

Well you know what they say, the grass is greener on the other side!

another possibility… all these “not a mustang” gangs are gov ops trying to convince their bosses to get one for them! For work purposes, ya know?

Aren't we all Americans, since we all live in North America? ?

Not surprising. As a long-time government employee (military/civil service) most of the vehicles we would get would not be the lowest trim, but the second trim up. Except for pickups. Those bad boys were straight-up F-150 XL, manual windows, no radio, etc ...unless justified otherwise.

In addition, they probably saw the increased range between a base Select and a 'base' CR1, and were sold!

*Edit* I just thought - wasn't the Premium RWD priced lower than the CR1? If so, then it sort of doesn't make sense. Which for the US government is spot on.

When people tell me it's not a Mustang, I just say "you're right, it's too fast to be a Mustang."
You should look at what some are saying in the other thread. Ditch the Mustang name altogether, you got yourself a freaking GT.

which is probably illegal… better explain to your friends and the cops how you managed to drive it around on public roads ?.

and who you robbed/blackmailed to get yourself one in the first place! ?
