Don’t rely on the ideology of a gasser aka Petro heads. They don’t know what it feels to not pump $100 into their tank every week and you won’t convince them that they don’t need to go 400 miles every day Autoparts & Big O are convincing them. They need lifetime parts ie alternator, starter water, pumps, hoses clamps they was born that way.
Those gassers sound worse than Hitler. I'll have my torch and pitchfork ready, just let me know when it's go time.

This never gets old. He's not wrong. Maybe clueless. ?

Ford Mustang Mach-E Ev community must stick together. The gassers are sick in the head 1721509287187-q

But I've seen a few charging spots occupied by ICEV when there are clearly empty spots around. Which led me to believe there is some sense of maliciousness. It's really too bad. Why can't we all get along?
BEV, PHEV, ICEV, even FCEV vehicles have their place.
I'm also wondering if this animosity a US thing?

There are lunatics on both sides as with most things. I love our Mach E but it’s a tool for a specific use case. I rationally talk about EVs with people who have been brainwashed just as much by lunatic EV evangelicals than they have fellow ICE enthusiasts.

I explain how and why our EV was a good choice as a primary car, acknowledge that I’m not a delusional “I’m saving the world!” screaming sociopath and they always listen and are open to the idea.

People almost always respond positively to a reasoned approach in real life.

Gandhi said be the change you want to see in the world. My friends who are skeptical hear me say good things about my car. I have my reasons for buying an EV. If you really want to know I’m glad to tell you. My 16 year old nephew visited yesterday and I showed him my car and told him about it. I didn’t tell him he shouldn’t buy a gas car, even if I wanted to, which I didn’t.

there is an issue when people think they are better than others because of what they chose to drive
I’m happy to live & let live or even drive EV & let drive ICEV.

Just wish the craziest of the bigoted bast***s would leave me alone.

Walking across the car park of a upper middle class supermarket car park in a stale, pale, male (& female) upper middle class area, minding my own business, some old pratt approached me in a confrontational manner and asked if there’s a reason he couldn’t park his ICEV in one of the EV charge spaces (instead of the 50+ other spaces in the car park) ?

Politely, I explained for the very same reason I wouldn’t park on a petrol pump blocking it and go shopping would hope.

Why me??‍♂

I MEAN WHY ME ?

I didn't take OPs post to indicate anyone driving an ICE vehicle is bad, at least I hope not. But maybe more those that get on an EV owner that their choice is wrong for a number of reasons you may not have found to be accurate.

My dad is one of those people, and even though he knows we have had two EVs that were both daily driven throughout the year in Michigan, a state that gets just about all the weather except hurricanes, continues to tell me that EVs "don't work" in cold weather and how long it takes to charge and on and on.

He hears about it from his news sources and that's all he needs, he doesn't want to hear that our MME has been in below 0 weather and works just fine, that my ICE F-150 also gets lower mileage in the winter due to a combination of factors, and that even then we have never come close to being left stranded.

That type of mentality is exhausting. They have heard from others that don't own EVs about how bad it is, and won't listen to someone that has lived with them for a while.

This isn't to say there aren't pros/cons of either, and isn't an EV only argument either. We still have the ICE F-150 because if we go on a 6+ hour drive, it's still the far more convenient vehicle, especially with four of us. But that's a rare thing and is easily overshadowed by the time I spend filling it up at gas stations, oil changes, the general sluggishness of an ICE powertrain, even one that is more powerful than the MME at peak.

I see EVs as superior in most cases, but fully accept it isn't for everyone. That said, people that say it it won't work for anyone or even most people are frustrating.
Damn man, sucks that your dad listens more closely to his sources vs his own son's personal experience.. I feel for ya.

I give the full great and bad to owning EV's to those who ask me. I'm a split house in having 3 ICE and 3 EV's. Too many kids and toys but it cars are my passion.

All have their place. I explain not all can go full EV currently, I'd no home charging, willing to plan trips etc. However, I love to plan and don't mind a challenge and overall EVs are way more fun and jack of all trades. However, still love the rumble of a supercharged LS3.

Usually the fossil drivers complain that there's:
1. Queues at the charger or
2. There's no queue's at the chargers so there's no demand.

This was from one person.

Well which one do you want to see? They had no answer

I confess that I’ve driven many vehicles I’ve owned many petrol powered vehicles. I confess that I’ve driven and 330 caterpillar horsepower caterpillar with the six speed. Allison transmission around the country. Sorry about, but my eyes have been open and the availability and the viability of EV‘s are real, I never drive on or possess after myself of petro diesel powered vehicles if it all feasible as soon as possible and will join with the EV community if I’m separated from my local EV community to carry on the pollution free transportation system to

That is ridiculous for certain. I only charge at home so no experience myself. A sense I have though is that many places have preferred parking for EV’s. That did not bother me when I did not have one but I can see how it might ruffle small minded individuals. Heck look at people who use handicap spots! For lack of a better word there are “A-holes” on either side of the issue. For instance EV’s that park in EV only preferred parking spots with free charging just to park.

I recently flew from GA to MA to visit family and then drove back from MA to GA. I briefly considered making the round trip drive in my Mach E, but after looking at various planning tools I would have had to spend an extra 3 hours across 4 charging stops each way. If I had a NACS adapter (and assuming everything worked correctly at Superchargers) I may have been able to cut it down to 2.5 hours. I could have possibly saved some additional charging time by staying at a hotel with chargers.

Even in the best case scenario there still would be 2 extra hours of charging each direction versus an ICE vehicle. In the end I decided that I did not want to waste that extra time charging, so I rented a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. Which averaged 31.5 mpg and only required 2 fuel stops; 1 outside of Baltimore and a second outside of Charlotte.

My Mach E is great for my daily commute, but ICE vehicles still have their uses, at least for me.

The demise of the ICE powered passenger vehicle driving down the public roads continues to be exaggerated.
Afterall, even CARB continues to back off of their silly (embarrassing in hindsight) declarations of the recent past.
They now deem that 11 years from now Ford can sell a 2035 F150 very similar to the F150 Powerboost you can purchase today. Ford just has to tweak the hybrid enough to add a charge port to it. (Plug in)
And the F250/350 are allowed to be the ICE trucks that they are today.

In my opinion those changes are simply reflecting less about politics and more about what's realistically possible.

I used to be all for EVs but then I did research on them now I'm dead set against them. Just the human and ecological toll it takes just to get the materials to make the batteries should turn everyone one away from them. But I guess as long as it happens in a foreign country far away it ok.
