When I got my 2023 California Route 1, I had the dealer remove the aero covers. I didn't like the look and was willing to sacrifice a few % of mileage. As you may know, that leaves an exposed bolt in which the aero cover removable center cap no longer fits. I have a friend with a 3D printer and he fabricated some adapters in which the center cap can be threaded onto the bolt. Sorry for the dirty wheels, it's been very rainy here.

What material did you end up printing with?

Hopefully you made it so the pony is always running to the front.

haha! I could rotate my tires so they would be in sync...
I was serious. the two of them are going to face the rear unless you had them made differently to me. that makes no sense.

but when you rotate the wheels you'd have change the center caps around too. The factory ponies are facing forward on one side and towards back on the other. I actually went out to make sure.

Center cap comes off when wheels are changed (I balance each time), so swapping them is a non-issue for me. There are lit caps you can buy, pony is moving, but since they aren't facing the right way, I never considered them.

Honestly, I never considered I would need right hand and left hand caps. I'm just happy I could cover the bolts with something aesthetically pleasing.

I wonder if the same model would work for the GT wheels. Would you friend be willing to share a step file with the model?

So these screw onto the CV stubs? How to you ensure that they do not self-eject? ??

Nothing is certain. Just a fun solution/experiment. My only fear is getting them off when I rotate the tires.

I'll see him tomorrow and ask.

Probably better off anchoring them to the wheel from behind if there is any sort of detent in the bore. Otherwise, anchor them like the stock ones do behind the lug nuts. ??
