What were you quoted, if I may ask?
I wont get a true quote until they are available, however looking at similar other cars it's not going to be cheap.

I got a quote for xpel for $1250 for partial front and $2300 for full front. The installer would go to the dealership to do the work. I keep going back and forth on it, I know it will be worth it but it's just more money and more time before I can have my car

The not so precise quote I got was $6K for the full vehicle. That was only a quick estimate because they don't have any MME out at the moment. So crazy to wrap my head around that price.

again thanks

and I agree ?

paying 10%+ of the car's price (for a FE) is a tough thing to swallow.

I've lived decades with at least 9 cars and never had this done - didn't even really know it existed until this forum - and never once thought "oh man if only I had a way to do paint protection here" - it's always been "this is just a thing that happens to cars over time."

will this, the most expensive car I've bought by a huge amount, change that reasoning? I just don't know.

FULL Hood/Fenders, Mirrors & Front Bumper $2400-$2600

I had the same quote about 2500 for full front end protection as you have listed above.

I got a 3M wrap for the front of my car for a few of hundred bucks. It seriously cut down on the rock chips. The only thing that got through it in five years was some large hailstones. However, now the film needs replacing, it has tears at the bottom from curb scraping and is starting to bubble at the bottom too.

Wow!! I got a quote for a 3M “bra” on the front of the car at $900 to $1000. This is their newer PPF that is supposed to heal itself.
I also had a ceramic sealer arrive today and I plan to coat the paint as soon as the 3M PPF bra is done. Does anybody know if I can apply the ceramic coating over the 3M PPF?

Yes, it's done fairly routinely. You'll still need to prep the surface per the instructions though (clean, wiped with an alcohol mix etc)

Thanks. Does one make his own alcohol mix? I'm not going to use the iron remover unless you think it's wise I do. Frankfort DOES have very hard water (uses well water) with higher levels of iron but the wash will be done at the detailer whose suburb (Mokena) uses Chicago water (from Lake Michigan) which is not hard at all and the ceramic coating will go on right after I get the car home from detailer.

IIRC correctly the alcohol mix is 25% isopropyl alcohol and 75% water and it's designed to ensure the residue from your prep work is removed, nothing more. Fallout removal I can't comment on.

Thanks. Do you just let the alcohol mix evaporate and then coat the car? Or do you wipe it off with microfiber cloth?
