Hey, would my Electrify Canada monthy subscription give me reduced prices at Electrify America charging stations on a USA road trip?

Would my Tesla Canada monthly subscription give me reduced prices at USA Tesla Superchargers on a USA road trip?

Should I subscribe to any other services, or download any other apps, in advance of my trip?

Calgary -> SFO is the routing.

Thanks!

I don't know on the subscription piece, I am sure others do. But when we take our trips up to Canada I have only used Charge Assist/Public Charging in car to activate the Canadian networks, I never bothered with apps/accounts.

So if the subscription piece doesnt work out you can just use that app in car (test it first in canada)

I finally (just) got that “Charge Assist” app. You’re right, I should try it out before I go. Tesla charging is cheaper if I sign up for a month and use their phone app, as I understand it.

Based on my experience Electrify Canada and Electrify America are considered two different operations, with separate phone apps and separate membership programs.

I haven't done a Tesla membership, but everything is unified in the Tesla App so it seems like one membership should work for US and Canada.

My go-to charger and route planning apps are ABRP and PlugShare. I use the free ABRP account to research routes, then enter the destination in another turn-by-turn navigation. ABRP's paid account has made a lot of improvements since I last tried, so it might be worth the modest fee.

I've planned my trip out in both Plugshare and ABRP. I've been paying the monthly premium fee for ABRP, seems worth it.

This is correct. If you get a pass with Electrify Canada, it doesn't work on Electrify America. With Tesla, your pass works in both countries. Electrify Canada is the most expensive charging and worst app of all the ones I've used in Canada anyhow.

By the way, Ford actually has a section on their site that plug and charge will work in both countries for Canadians.
