I tried out my A2Z typhoon pro for the first time today. Very very short charge. 6 minutes, from 36 to 50 % SOC, added 47 miles. Started at 148 + a fraction kW, dropped to 114s within 2-3 minutes, down to 107+ when I stopped. As I said, this was
strictly a test. The A2Z worked like a charm. I snagged the extreme R dispenser in a set of 12 and simply used the adjacent regular parking stall. Location is Fairfax Corner VA. That particular dispenser makes charging the MME child’s play. The

Operator error … it was a perfect first supercharger experience even if only a short test. The few Tesla people I chatted with were great. They conceded they prefer the Mach e styling over Tesla, I conceded that on reputation they have the better software and OTAs. Images attached fyi. As I said, this particular dispenser with this site’s configuration makes the charging a no brainer.

talk about operator error?. The two lower shots were in raw format on the iPhone. Getting them converted to jpeg and into the post was way harder than using the a2z and SC?

Tesla appears to be building new supercharger locations with other mfg's in mind. One recently opened up a few miles away from me where the charger is not located on the curb anymore, it's now in the parking spot (where the white lines that separate each space would be).

Got my charge adapter last Friday evening, tested it yesterday and was surprised to find the chargers were oriented this way. When we pulled into the spot, the charger was basically right next to the charge port door on our MME. (it still had a V3 charger rather than the newer V4, even though it was just recently built).

What also surprised me was the charge rate, we got 157kwh right after we plugged it in. Car was at 18% charge. We didn't pre-condition, (couldn't precondition, we have a 21 so the navigation subscription expired so can't choose any chargers in the navigation system, the drive to the charger was 4 miles so not really enough to warm it up). Ambient temp was 60 degrees. Surprised it ramped all the way up to 157kwh immediately.
Didn't see how long it would stay at that rate as we only let it charge for 2 minutes. It charged 5.x kwh in 2 minutes, and the bill came to $3.18 ($0.60/kwh).

No one has Tesla SuperChargers in the Navigation, therefore no one can precondition. Of course at a temp of 60 degrees, not much needed (and battery was likely warmer from driving).

I can't choose any DCFC in navigation, the entire "Charging" area is greyed out and if I click on it, it says I need to have an active navigation subscription.

? "Yes, you do." what?

If there's a way to choose a DCFC in the navigation without an active subscription please explain how?
Yes, you do need to have an active subscription.

Which is why I said in my original post that I have a 21 with an expired navigation subscription so can't choose any charger destinations in the navigation for preconditiong. Has nothing to do with Tesla or not.

If you had an active subscription, you could not precondition for Tesla SuperChargers. In fact, beyond Magic Dock locations, no Tesla SuperChargers would appear.

Since you don't have an active navigation subscription, you can't precondition for ANY DC fast chargers, as you noted.

I could have pre-conditioned by simply picking an EV Go location less than 1/2 mile from the Tesla location.

What my original post was trying to say was that even without pre-condition, it seems the charge rate is pretty near max.

Because the battery was already warm. If it was 20 degrees outside, you wouldn't have the same experience.
